If original Dunlop, make sure they are the correct rims.

The front disc rim should be stamped (WM2-19) 'MC275' or MC288.
The drum rear rim should be (WM2-19) MB41.

Don’t have pictures of the rear rim, but it’s a Dunlop with a Cush hub. The front is WM2 like in the picture. I think I’m good!

Wheel arrived; cleaned it up, added the O-rings to the fork ears and tightened up the forks.

Picking up the front wheel, chain guard and tail light in a few weeks. I have the swing arm, cradle and center stand that just need blasting and painting.

I wonder at what point you’re at 50%?

My goal is to buy some tires and have it on the ground as a roller!

I have a long way to go, but I’m getting there!

You going to leave the cover disc off of the rear hub? I believe FE is the one who did it here and it looks sharp.

Ooooooh…. He's got the bug so I don't believe that'll come to pass. I profess though he is being thorough and that does eat up the clock.

FE has had me eyeballing mine ever since I saw the pic of his. I kept going back and looking at it and the more I looked the more I liked it... Who knows I may go for it after another look. Besides mine has a small dent I don't particularly feel like removing.... If I did, it's off anyway. Right?

That is coming along nicely and at a quick pace.
If you want a roller with the cradle installed but the engine out until rebuilt, these are the measurements to make a plate to attach the cradle to the front engine mount lug...fwiw.

I was wondering about that. This is great thank you. I think I have some aluminum that I can fabricate something. Thanks for the measurements.

And it’s only going at a nice pace because a) I’m nuts and b) this is the easy stuff that anyone can do. I promise that once I move on to the engine, it will take me a long time.

If you are going to get tyres/tires, the only tubes I have had to date that do not lose pressure are IRC's (there are probably others)
I tape the rim dish (+ a 18" rubber rim tape) to keep moisture (talcum powder tube) out and as a unproven means to maybe keep air in with a dead flat at speed a little longer. (Which I have had in the past)

MachV on eBay were parting out Commando engine bits a while back, if you don't already have a 850 crank be aware some are misidentified and from 750's.

I found that a length of heavy wire tied from cradle to front engine mount is all that is needed to roll the bike around.

If you haven't touched the engine, a rolling chassis is the half-way point.

That’s great advice, I was going to try and fabricate a plate, but heavy wire is a lot easier to rig.

I’m almost half way!!!!
