Please have a look on the right. "New Posts" will appear and you can select that at the forum level. Is this what you are looking for?

No. What I'm looking for has been replaced by the bold face font in a thread title. It will do, as long as I stay with the light theme.

If you are a VIP member, then you can now upload a profile cover photo. Click your username top right, then click cover photo.

I get an error on that link. Is it VIP only? Admin only?

Yes as it turns out it is for admin only. Sorry about that. Here is the result:

Hello all,

I have to do some major forum updates and security updates. In fact, the forum has been rebuilt to accommodate the latest platform. I think that this will be version 5 of the access norton forum. I am afraid that means that the forum will be down for a few hours. I expect to get this done this week. You will see a "Down for maintenance" message while I perform these upgrades.

We can have some new and exciting things with the new forum. stay tuned.

After clicking "New posts" there used to be a button (can't remember the wording) where the "Mark forums read" is - it allowed you to re-appear those you've read that seem to automatically disappear from view.
I found that functionality quite useful. Is there some reason for removing it - or can it be put back?
Or is it somewhere else now that I can't currently find?
Cheers
Rob

Edit: It's okay - found it - it's now called "What's new" - on the left, under "New posts"

Well I'm also one of the 13.... interesting to know who the other 11 are??
I struggle with this very low number to be honest.

Where is the tab that had user name, machine, chassis number and there location??

Its a work in progress. Unfortunately I was forced to do this upgrade. I did not want to do it.
If you have any suggestions or complaints, please can you post in the official forum upgrade thread so I can keep everything in the same place.

Thanks

Hi Jerry
I help administer for a local club forum and currently run with a lower tech software O/S....I had been considering looking into zenforo.... to possibly use.

I have noticed the beginning access norton home page code lines were around 3600 a few days ago and now it over 4200?
Was your unwanted upgrade due to zenforo dropping support for a prior revision?

Windows task manager shows my firefox now goes crazy and my hard drive starts churning like an old coffee grinder and prefetch and CPU useage runs nonstop very high. Obviouslly I run a model T desk top and not a smart phone (I don't have one)
Thanks
Dave

Good work, thanks.I wasn't sure about the who's on line being above the new posts list, but you have fixed that.

I have noticed the edit function in PM's disappears a bit quick, could the timer be extended? my written English or spelling isn't the best and I often nip back into posts to change things. Thanks again.

Hello Dave,

Xenforo is the best forum software hands down. We stared out on phpbb in the 90s and approx 2015 we switched to xen1. That was a major transformation for the better. They stopped support for xen1 in 2017. Lots of others still use it though, because it’s a real pain to upgrade to xen2. They rebuilt it from the ground up. That is what I just did. Although it’s the best forum hands down, you really need to be a coder to get it done right. Luckily that’s what I do for a living these days.

I don’t know why your processor is churning away like that. It might be because I was working on some code at the time. The site loads very quickly, faster than before and everything is cached nicely. Our server runs litespeed module on Apache utilizing orcache. That’s a good thing. If you send me a pm with more details perhaps I can help you. If that happens, right click, then select “inspect code” followed by selecting, “console”. It will tell you what the problem is. Try clearing browser cache first. Make sure you have a good connection, I will double check everything too.

I am very happy how the upgrade has gone. Better than expected. Some little bugs left. Then I will be implementing some other cool things. For now I have to get caught up on normal work as I got way behind on other commitments.

cheers
Jerry
