Can anyone tell me the size of the cylinderical piece on the threaded rod type fork tube puller? I know that the threaded rod is 9". I want to make one while I still have access to a lathe. Need Lenght and diameter in in. or mm.

Have to wait till I get home from work. Company computer won't allow pictures  Now that I'm home and can see the picture ... That is similar to what I saw on ebay only it didn't have the shoulder. I didn't realize it was threaded. I'm not good enough to setup threading on a lathe. Better leave this one alone. I thought It might be wrongly named and was a bushing puller. This looks like something that would install the tube into the top yoke. Thank you for the picture.

Ya that is a fork tube puller to pull the forks up as you described. Sorry thought that's what you were lookin for.

I just took an old ratty fork tube bolt and turned the flats off. Then drill the center and tap for a piece of 3/8's all-thread. A couple fender washers and nuts and done!

Damn I like having that lathe!

Anyway, you don't need one if you have infernal springs. Just grab it hold & shove it up. You can wiggle it a bit if you like.

My nuts are resting on the keyboard shelf at the moment, just about to pot them back in.
That oil change was horrible.

Excuse my ignorance, but why does anyone need a fork tube puller. When I loosened the clamps on my trees, they just pretty much fell out. Or am I missing something here?

I have never used the norton puller it came in the set. I only use the triumph puller because triumph forks are a tad, a lot more difficult than norton forks. I remember BSA forks also being a real hassle when I had an A50.

One (queens english) only require a fork puller when one has both external springs & headlamp brackets that shroud the forks.

Getting them to drop out is easy. It's the putting them back in where you might need the puller especially if everything is nice and greasy and you are putting both sides up with the wheel and brake. I have a set of about 6 of those threaded pieces with a T-handle. 1 fits Norton and 2 others fit my Matchlesses. Could have been from DomiRacer.
