When I was at this year's Barber Vintage Motorcycle festival I noticed a Commando in the swap meet area that had an upgraded single front disc with five arms/spokes, and it used the original Norton/Lockheed calliper.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind to take a photograph, and when I returned later to do so I couldn't find it.
Does anyone know what this disc is, and where can I buy one?

Bear in mind, stainless has a lower friction coefficient than iron, so, expect less braking power.

i have one of those on my 850, and i'd have to say the upgraded master cylinder i put on made much more difference than the disc did - which over time is becoming grooved from uneven wear. i don't plan on replacing the disc with another similiar one- will look at other options

Thanks for the replies.
I didn't know about the friction coefficient difference - worth knowing.
I plan on fitting a 14mm master cylinder, which is what I have on the Trident - this setup works well for me.
It looks like I'll opt for a standard sintered iron disc with a better master cylinder.

They say it's a "whopping" 13 ounces less than stock. I wouldn't wonder that you'd lose that much from a stock disc by giving it the same spoke and hole treatment.

If you got the money you could go for the CNW Brembo conversion . This will give you 2 finger braking like a modern sports bike and is much lighter than the 13oz claimed by this disc .
