First Kick

Yesterday at 1:00 PM eastern time I came down hard on the k/s and fired my project with one kick, extreamly satisfying. This was the first set of chemically induced revolutions this engine has seen in 28 years. I ran it for 9 minutes with 30w non-detergent oil; it didn't run flawlessly, but later today I will re-set the valves, torque the major fasteners, sync the carbs (Twinmax) and shoot the timing, then off for the first 50 miles (weather permitting).

The engine had no leaks (Jim Comstock breather?), and the hydraulic clutch worked like a charm.

Within the next 10 days I will post pictures and write up the build history.

Well done!!!, there is such a feeling of achievement, when something you have been working on for ages does what you hoped it would do. Now you're at the fiddling stage, adjustments will be made then put back to where they were and tried again, but the main thing is it's running so it is only fine tweeking.
More power to your spanner arm :D
