I have a lot of experience with testing and analysing carbon fibre structural aircraft components and at first glance I don’t like them. (Of course I cannot always be right)
 
Personally I wouldn’t be comfortable with them. To me, this looks like a very weak spot. I know CF is strong, but…

They meet all of the requisite standards it would appear Cliff - obviously a pretty high-tech firm. I’d have no problem fitting them to my bike, if they were’nt so blingy-n-un-Norton-like! Only get away with the BST wheels cos they’re not ‘in yer face’ & match the weave of the other carbon bits.

Bike still looks better with spoked wheels for mine, but the gain in performance outweighs the aesthetic IMO.

Often think that a mint Mk1 (that’s ‘sorted’), with a few miles on, is a better option than later models when I see a biker on FB looking for a Donnie 961. For what’s saved on purchase price ya could bung some BST wheels on and get more smiles per mile into the bargain!

We have a problem travelling around Birmingham in the UK, you see the local council has run out of money and so the roads are getting really bad with potholes. Combine these with the brilliant method of resurfacing roads one side at a time, leaving a gap between the two sides that disintegrate causing holes that you could lose a Hyundai in. So composite wheels? I don't think so. These would be far more appropriate......

Not April the first is it? Well this is an excellent tip if it really does work. My question is what made him think of trying it in the first place?????

Beats what I used to use, OOPS. The MSDS label on that stuff read like a toxic landfill site, and had to use rubber gloves when using it.

I’ll pick some up today and post the rear label. Doubt it’ll have anything too toxic in it given it’s for washin’ yer ‘tiny whites’!

The only area of my bike I’ve had difficulty cleaning - bit of a plus if it works.👍
 
OK, there may be a few nasties in this stuff - so gloves’n’goggles on! I’ll give it a go this weekend and we’ll see how effective it is.

Reminds me off baby wipes. You know the ones that are "only water" and "close to nature". Yeh.....they're AMAZING at removing brake dust from wheels.
