Nice northy commando on Facebook (not for sale)

Huge, plus better carburetion than stinking Amals.
I've tried other "affordable" carbs on Nortons & Triumphs, and have ALWAYS gone back to EXCELLENT rebuilt original or new Premier Amal carbs. They're only stinky if you don't know how to rebuild and tickle them properly.

Right... I've known how to rebuild and tickle Amal carburetors since the 70's. Nothing special about them. I still have bagged rebuild kits for them. However, I quit using Amals in the late 80's when I made some engine modifications on my Norton engine they didn't work well with. They are little 930's. I replaced them with 34mm Mikuni carburetors back then after I made some manifolds for them. Much better. I'm using FCRs now which required yet again more manifold work and are another step up performance wise for me. They are not for riders that baby their engines though unless the accelerator pump is disabled and they are retuned possibly rejetted. I like the accelerator pump myself, but I'm way off topic by now. Later

Long inlets on those CRs

Roger used to post on here. Albeit somewhat sporadically.

It’s a really nice bike with some really trick bits on it, like magnesium Maney cases, etc.

Those inlet manifolds look ‘one off’ and weren’t a 5 minute job either!
