Talking of cut backs:
I have been visiting a friend in hospital that suffered a stroke 3 weeks ago and helping assist his rehabilitation which couldn't have happened at a worse time.
I recently found out the true figures of the shortage of NZ nurses at present is just over 6000 based on employment advertising numbers around the country
(Media told us 4000)
The city i live in has recently (2-3 years ago) up graded/modernized our hospital which involved major construction work
I wonder how many hospital cleaners we are also short.. because once you start looking its a bloody mess
One of two outdoor yards for patients and visitors and for a public health facility this is just not good enough.
