Doesn't matter, those ventilators belong to the "government stockpile", and as little Jared said

"The notion of the federal stockpile was it's supposed to be our stockpile. It's not supposed to be states stockpiles that they then use."

Despite the public health emergency website which clearly states-

“Strategic National Stockpile is the nation’s largest supply of life-saving pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for use in a public health emergency severe enough to cause local supplies to run out.”

So if individual states are not allowed to use the federal gov stockpile when in dire need.... who is??

The death toll continues to rise...

Im no gynecologist, but I'll take a shot:

Florida has hit an iceberg, taking on water and will be going to the bottom while the governor is making busy rearranging the deck chairs. Our fellow member here seems to want to hurl poop on a failed political figure from the other side.
 
That's what happens if you install monkeys to run the zoo. Over in the uk we are a just little bit better off. But we are in a war. Mistakes will be made , heroes will be shot by mistake. I am getting really fed up with the constant needling of our "generals" in an effort to trip them up, usually by interviewers who have never done anything exceptional , can barely pronounce the words and have a real lack of lifes experience.

Many consumers will ,unfortunately, have little choice but to buy the cheapest goods and everyone seems to be engaged in a race to the bottom and wants to maximise profit irrespective of consequence. It seems to be in the DNA of late capitalism.

I am also feed up with some of the monkeys outside of the zoo. all thy are doing is acting just like monkeys by throughing poop from there side if you dont follow there way of thinking.

Did you feel that way about criticism of Obama? Or did you think Obama’s likeness on targets being sold in some gun shops in Florida was real funny?

I was thinking of how things were 40 years ago. Today, consumers have fewer choices when it comes to domestic made vs China. I see men’s sneakers sold here are overwhelming made in China. Personally, I buy SAS and Danner shoes. Some Danners are imports. Not found in my closet.
 
Not only does the Trump administration fail on delivering PPEs and ventilators, they are saying stimulus checks to the little people may take as long as 5 months to issue. Big business, including Trump hotels, will get their checks much sooner than that. If you got laid off, are broke, waiting for your check and voted for Trump, well.....
 
If we all posted as if person you posting at was across table from you , think maybe things would go better for all , it is trying times to say the least which makes respect here even more important , the guys who run this don’t need the aggravation of having to review everything posted ,they in this with us .... maybe if everyone can try to tone down the personal attacks to non-existent and not keep belabouring their personal mantra over and over , we will all survive this and this forum will continue as a place to trade info on our beloved 2 wheelers and other associated interests .... thanks for reading , hope some of it is absorbed in the spirit it was said

That my point, we should post as if we are , in real life I have not had to call many out at the table or on the ice or playing fields .... how many have you ? ..... way more fun to play nice , for most maybe ... over the many years this forum has lost several very interesting and knowledgeable members because of pointed personal attacks , a fella’s point of view should not be so important that he can’t rest until everyone sees and agrees with him , just not gonna happen .... thanks for reading this Jim

Civility and respect for your fellow Norton enthusiast is important, even if they are being a buffoon, and let's face it, were talking politics on a motorcycle forum, were ALL buffoons!;)
 
Just watched a fascinating on-line lecture showing the cutting edge work on COVID-19 and a possible treatment just announced today entering Phase2 clinical trials in Europe. The chief investigator, Joseph Penninger, is the head of Life Science Center of U. British Columbia and works in Vancouver & Austria. Based on work from the SARS epidemic, they have discovered the exact cell surface receptor used by SARS & SARS-Covid2 (aka the virus causing Covid-19) and how this receptor normally works in the lung and other organs. This basic biology research has lead to a potential treatment by using a lab produced version of the receptor protein as a mimic, effectively loading up the virus particles so they mainly bind to the mimic and can't bind as much to the real receptors in the lungs.

Early days but this is moving amazingly fast.

I could care less whether someone disagrees with me. Most of the disagreements on this thread have been partisan. Partisan politics always brings about sharp elbows. Pointing out a particular politician’s lies, incompetence and immorality is not being partisan. Stating facts is not being partisan. Quoting a politician’s previous statements is not being partisan. Now, wanting to kick the shit out of a particular partisan is partisanship.

Some of my views of politicians and political parties has, no doubt, been shaped by my life’s experiences. In particular, my having severed as a labor lobbyist in California. A 2 year stint in the Capitol, Sacramento, CA. brought me up close to politics and politicians.
