Honda ain't Chinese.

The point still stands. China makes cheap garbage and Americans eat it up.

Now they've tanked the global economy and thousands of people are dead.

Fuck the CCP

i know honda is not chinese. but when companys like B=S sit around and get past up than they resort to cheep labor to make up for there cheep junk.

you mean riggs from scranton crap. the stuff was cheap junk when made here. there is no comparisoin between there crap and honda. companys like these sat on there laurels for to long.

You miss the point. It’s jobs I’m talking about. American jobs that are now in China.

If you’d quit trying to chap my ass and read carefully, your posts would make a lot more sense.

We have a totally inept president. This crisis has made that readily apparent. Trump is completely without direction. Rudderless. Vacillating from one extreme to another, almost daily. His main purpose seems to be denigrating those who do not worship at the altar of Trump. Who ever even considered a six time bankrupt real estate developer and reality TV show host would be capable of leading the country?

Didn't you also have a B grade movie actor for a president once and most of the time it was his wife making the decisions for him.

Yes. Saint Reagan. Put the boots to American labor. Labor has not recovered since. Cut taxes for the wealthy. Took away tax deductions for the little guy and he ended up paying more taxes then before the tax cut. Started taxing Social Security. Increased the national debt by 2.8 times. Hell-of-a president.

BTW, some may not get a stimulus check until August. You can bet Trump’s hotels will get their stimulus checks before the end of April.

Didn't Regan restrict Jap imports of bikes over 700cc by increasing import taxes in order to protect Harley Davidson ?
Sorry but I'm not well informed on Regans other antics of his time in office.

You are probably more informed of Reagan than a lot of ‘Mericans. We have a lot of people here who display ignorance like a badge of honor.

BTW, Donald Regan was Secretary of Treasury and Chief of Staff, both serving President Ronald Reagan. (note the different spelling of Reagan and Regan).

It’s not the government to blame for China dominating our markets. It’s not company execs to blame. It’s theAmerican consumer. If you want to blame a politician blame Nixon. He’s the one who opened our markets to the Chinese. And the American consumers couldn’t buy it fast enough. Had Americans refused to buy Chinese crap there wouldn’t be any here today. Companies that were once American stalwarts, Briggs & Stratton comes to mind, would still make ALL their products in the US of A. This country hardly makes a shoe anymore. Damn near every American is wearing a shoe made in China. Why? Because the Chinese made shoe is cheaper. Send American jobs to China to save fifty bucks. Brilliant!

Surely it is American execs who decide to export capital and knowledge to China no one twists their arm.
Likewise , it is the buyers from the shopping malls who decide to import goods from China not the consumer per se.

That’s all true, Mike. But if the consumer shunned those Chinese goods they would no longer be imported nor would American companies be setting up factories in China.

Reagan had his own pandemic (HIV) to deal with and guess what? he also ignored it leading to more misery.

Bill Clinton awarded most favored nation MFN status and membership in the WTO, world trade organization to China.

You may recall the scandals surrounding Chinese “campaign“ contributions to Bill Clinton and the Democrats. You may also recall that his commerce secretary Ron Brown avoided scandal when he was killed in an airplane crash while on his way to China.

The floodgates of Wall Street investment in China were opened under the Clinton administration and Goldman Sachs and the rest of the Wall Street crooks made a killing during that period.

Moving plants to Mexico and China made sense for American manufacturers. High wage costs were just a part of it. The uS regulatory atmosphere remains stifling and it protects old line established companies - keeping new innovativors out. Many innovators - new companies - led the way to China

Wall Street financed it; providing loans for Chinese purchase of entire factories, of entire companies. Wall Street also lent for the construction IN China of new plants and equipment.

Yes, the rush into China of US investment continued and even grew after Clinton. Just saying that the claim that “Nixon did it “ or “Reagan did it” is . . . Just made up.

High real estate costs affect employees too, not just employers and that is a real factor too in making US products cost too much. US real estate, especially for manufacturers and their employees is too high, a disadvantage.

The reflation of real estate post 2008 was a blunder for this reason

The Brit PM is in quarantine at No 10 and instead of the usual weekly meetings , it has now to be done by phone; this week it was short and sweet;
Boris "I've got the virus, what now?"
Queen, "Go and touch Donald Trump" :)

Navy official at todays press conf states 250k N95 masks tobe delivered to NYC tomorrow. Great!

But, follow up questions revealed these masks are not going direct to hospital care workers. They are entering the commercial supply chain to be sold to highest bidders, including foreign buyers.

Is this why the gun shops are exempt from closing?
The FLA gov took decisive action to help this crisis, by moving swiftly to exempt gun owners from concealed carry permit fees during this situation.

You just can't this stuff up folks!

And now im reading on a CNN scroll line, 20% of 10k ventilators in fed's stockpile have been found unservicable due to lapsed maintenance contracts.

And capt'n of the Roosevelt carrier that sounded alarm of the outbreak on board has been relieved of his command.
