Dear All,
i have the conrods shell with numbers:
-upper 25384 and 5022 with a stamp PV into a O;
-down 23255 and 4444 with a stamp PV into a O.
Are they the standard shells?.
Ciao.
Piero
Hi Les,
and thank you.
You are in right, is VP.
Vandervelle shells are not the originals?.
If the previous owner changed the original, sounds srtange he fitted again the standard!.
Ciao.
Piero
Not necessarily, if the big end journals were still within the specified dimensional limits then there would be no reason to grind the crank and fit undersize shells, also replacing bearing shells is usually considered normal practice when doing an engine rebuild.
