For the Airhead owners here, I tend to use Hobot for "training" so I can wade through Snowbum's info. I like the "entertaining" aspects of Hobot's posts and there are Nuggets of valuable information there.

Hah! It's interesting though. I can make it through the 'bums stuff, can't with hobot's.

I've never understood Hobot or Matt and I thought this had something to do with me not being mother tongue... glad to hear it's not only me then.
Love their sense of humour though. (See Hobot's genius reply with the 2 videos...)

Yeah, the "drilling" holes in the trailer video is AMAZING! (but it WAS effective!!).

I have a theory that "Hobotese" is equal parts Tequila and Shakespeare!

Get a few moveing and the herd will follow . Sentenials from the Real World to save ya'll from mass production consumerism
and outright lies of advertiseing .

Well, I've been involved with this Forum for nearly a year now.
Joined up because I like Nortons.
Stayed with it because I have learned a lot, and get the opportunity to talk to people all over the world about all sorts of things.
We are all different, and we all talk different.
Sometimes the not so educated, like myself, have trouble expressing ourselves as we would like to.
Some say spanner, some say wrench.
Some say petrol, some say gas.
Some say bullshit, some say gibberish.
Some say, well oil beef hooked.
While some say, didyabringagrogalong.
Both Mat and Steve have helped me out at different times, and believe it or not, their private messages are quite legible.
I have no doubt that those who have been here for years, do get sick of the same questions over and over again
but if nobody asks questions then there wouldn't be a forum.
The new ones learn quickly that we don't swear out loud here, and the professional guys give great advice.
I guess after 43 odd years there isn't too much more to be said about Commandos and their improvement.
Most of us are old enough to sieve the bullshit, sort the sheep from the goats, pick the real gold from the fools gold etc.
Lets try and have a happy, :D, not too serious :?, year, with some great ideas  and bikes.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
AC.

10-4 A.C. I go to my local library, if I see a book I don't want to read I don't read it... But I'm greatful to live in a world that has a place for it if someone else wants to.

While I don't always pick up what they're puttin' down, I just look at it like they're passionate about this stuff.......which I think we probably all are. Cj

I rest my case.

I agree can't understand half of what Matt writes nor mine neither half the time but at least we understand its all about the Bikes as half of us couldn't stand the other half otherwise : )

I'm floored by Matts OZ and NZ street racing video and the Fred Dagg video find that sums it up for me.

Still at school , the place is littered with half the latest Moto - X & Cycle Mags from the U.S .
If anyones got something moveing its likely there .
. I belive Ive seen a picture of Hobots 750 of old , maybe a brief write up to , in one of the more obsure mags . Howed they
do it . :D

The facts & picture certainly match youre description . And my view of its Construction may well be from print .

NZGP Drivers association 1967, Post Grand Prix ' Social at the secretarys house , Mothers assisting the ladies in the kitchen
afternoon the lads are sent to town for a movie . Evening waitering . the Conspiacy is to get them blotto , see if we can
get any legless by bedtime , 10 p.m.
Brabams Arron's God Father .' see their glasses are kept full , interogate ( some more skillfully than others for 6 - 10 yr olds )
regarding the vehicals performace etc and their driveing tecniques .
Joe Bonnier was a fairly sociable and eloquiant driver , but hard to get paralitic .
Had Brabham ' bump ' into me near when I was four one dark night at the door on his exit .
The Old Man , raceing yachts , found ' car talk ' tiresome and time wasteing .

Oh oh, do i really want to hang out in a place with that low of standards?
I'm born neck brain injured which lead to even more tangled connections so I have to put up with more of it that yoose guys, ugh.

At base I'm in surreal state because life's sudden shortness is ground in to the gristle so what's any thing matter but getting off on it and taking as many with me as I can. I try to play on words about me, but not on advice or alerts to mislead so will try harder to pay attention. Sweets and booze [except for triple thumped white lightening] hurts my head and being, so only mild organics and rare heavy duty psychedelics vision quests have appeal or use. Acceleration for turns is what shoots me up most but also most dangerous by far. ugh. Half my time here life equaled pain, this second half of 60 I'm smarter older so mostly at ease resting or active. All we really got is our time here, less spent in pain-turmoil the better I like it. Brain kills off the weak slow neurons and unused ones so we should get quicker more efficient. The lingo complaints are feedback to calibrate my outside messages. Trouble is which message wins to get through?

Maybe posting gibberish is the result of living a hippy type life style in the 60s and over indulging somewhat?

Who said anything about the 60's!

Was a bike matching Hobots pictured in a US rag maybe 69 , a few paragraphs on " Components Machined from Experimental materials off cuts" , prototype development contracts . Crank Rods Rockers Follwers . 10.000 rpm .
Drag Meet report , newsprint type lesser mag . Brother built his Boat , School Hols 69 , assumeing its then as didnt get thumped reading it. He mustve been at the shed . He'd grab any car / bike mag with front running drivle / reports
from his earnings ( aged 12 !  ) . Go Steve . But Where'd YOU get the Bike . Was built some place on
the edge of the beyond . Like as much to keep the machineists ammused . Small world Eh Wot .
