Commando prices...

So you've met most millennials then? I guess your own children are the Lord's perfect millennial angels? ;)

I will admit, there is some seriously strange shit stirring in the midst of my generation but for the most part we are normal folks working hard to better ourselves withing the confines of a system set-up (by your generation) to ensure our failure.

You-all inherited a booming, prosperous country you had no hand in building and what have you done with it? Cut taxes on yourselves, let our infrastructure crumble, housing market tank, cut education budgets, trashed the environment, stuck us in a 20 year war and funneled 99% of our wealth into the hands of 1% of our population.

"Cringe-worthy" doesnt even begin to describe the havoc your generation has wreaked upon the country and this planet.

But I guess millennials are ruining Christmas right?

Hold on there! You're gonna get us thrown off the Commando forum and sent to the pub! Ha!

Each generation has had their own foibles and follies. Just how it is. The Boomers are just an easy target as the younger folk come of age. "F#*^ you, Dad!" As it should be, and as it always will.

No need to dwell unnecessarily, point too many fingers, and bite the hand that feeds. Here we are, and we've got knowledge to glean before the sun goes down.

Back to bikes, and the perceived (and paid) prices thereof. The correct asking price is the highest the market will bear. With any luck, the price you pay is much lower than that.

Let me apologize. I can get a bit carried away after a drink or two. Didn't mean to offend, I love my mid-century parents! Now back to bikes!

You know Jeff Beck said about selling a car something along the lines of all that work and if you sell it you end up with just a stack of notes.
All that work in my four bikes (not to mention the money) best just keep them until I cork off.
Awful warm today think Ill wait until late this afternoon to ride. 70 F. Positively torrid. Life is tough.

I corrected my post.

Mine are by no means angels, but far from cringe-worthy (apart from one aspect that I've commented generally on in the past, and was blasted for in this forum)

Pour moi une chose est certaine : les prix d'aujourd'hui sont ceux d'une spéculation, pas le prix que ces vélos valent, qui a commencé il y a quelques années, d'abord en France, puis au Royaume-Uni, puis aux Etats-Unis etc...

FanFan , sorry I don’t understand a word of what you posted above , but I do like/respect your enthusiasm !!!!

My Daughter is 37 , Son is 35 helped them both move on to University then both got more education at college level my Daughter runs her own fermented food business on Cape Breton Island , my Son is red seal auto mechanic at big dealership owned used car lot in our only city , kinda funny they both have degrees in Fine Arts and while both work with their hands not really art .... they both had a mountain of debt by time school was over and that one reason why I a poor man now .... they both work long hours and seem reasonably happy with their lives , my girl spent enough on body art (ink) to buy a Commando my boy he owns a house and drives junkers .... who knew , eh .... think they both milenials .....

It's all true and what's more we coined the terms "He who dies with the most toys wins" and "Greed is good". We proceeded to buy a lot of crap and mini-storages sprang up across the land to house it all. We might "win" for dying with lots of toys, but when it comes time to unload all those belongings, there isn't going to be a market for all of it. Commandos of course will be exempt because it's obvious that everybody should want one.

You forgot to give us credit for running up the nation’s debt from $900 billion to $23 trillion.

From Google translation:

"For me one thing is certain: today's prices are those of a speculation, not the price that these bikes are worth, which began a few years ago, first in France, then in the United Kingdom, then in the United States etc..."

Isn't it illegal, unnatural, or something such to not want a Commando?...I believe that was one of the Commandments that got broken off the tablets and lost in the wanderings....Had to be so because it sounds good....It has to be true because every time you park someplace folks come up trying to look the good out of them gawking & eyeballing.

Not to mention every guy over 50 comes up and claims to have had a Norton that had a top speed of 150mph.

Had to because the speedo says so. Right? Mine only did about 105 when she was young.

Peter Egan (motor writer) claims the Commando and one model of Triumph are worth owning just to look at ! And also life is incomplete if not at least one of each in your shed/garage at all times , even better if they get used out on road , in my way of thinking it makes ‘em priceless .... obvious that I like his writing !

Commando prices...

“Yes, the planet got destroyed. But for a beautiful moment

in time we created a lot of value for shareholders.”

Peter Egan is the best motor-journalist I’ve had the pleasure to read in my 74 years

I am sorry Craig.

Thirty years ago commandos didn’t interest anyone, today it’s a fashion and prices are soaring.
