Ref . High speed engine noise.

Phil I know you like endless droning , that's what happens when you sit next to Aircraft engines all day.

I think auldblue, it was the pay that kept me there. Can you imagine sitting up front of a tin can at 40,000ft flying the distance of New York to LA and back in one day? The boredom was the killer. There certainly were better days and I don't for one minute regret my 30 odd aviation years. But there comes a time for everyone to move on. There are far more interesting things to do in life than work for a living. Everyone has a cut off point, my only advice is hit the ground with your feet running, if you can. Too many guys retire then drop dead. I'm not retired, I'm just doing something very different and I don't in fact plan ever to retire in the traditional sense. I just now have far more time to obsess over Norton Commandos than I've had since I was sixteen! So obsess I will!!

Phil always ask and if it continues tell them to stuff off. My ex's father was a war hero and he belted the tripe out of her when she was a kid. After our first minor disagreement I was dead forever. No issue was ever resolved and I walked on eggshells for 32 years. One day I came home from work and she said 'I think I want a divorce'. I answered 'you've got it'. We sat down and split every single thing right down the middle without solicitors. I simply cut my losses, moved into a new town house, found a job up the bush and remarried to a woman who will fight and not take the piss weak path of poisonous passive resistance. I am now retired and spend most of my time with a loving forgiving smart woman who has vey little baggage, and kisses her father (most important).

Well I didn't suffer 32 yrs, only a lousy ten. But it was ten yrs spent with a mentally ill woman I didn't need. After that, I wrote relationships off forever. But the gal I see now is so very special, it makes me understand what a relationship was always meant to be. I gave the example of a major major dummy spit for those unfortunate enough to have witnessed one ( certainly not a reflection on my Jenny). I am a very independent person because I've had to be, nearly all my life! But when you find the right companion it makes your life ten times better than it ever was. Maybe even eleven times better! :)

Is this a Norton Commando specific forum? obviously not.

I agree...The incessant bantering between these two is getting tiring. It seems that they use this forum as a "Dear Abby" column. Who really owns this website? Wish it was mine.

This stuff is not Commando related.............

Hi

Sorry about that , I am going to be upgrading the front brakes on my combat project want to make it a real looker and stopper, good set of twin discs . I like the look of the norvil type sold by les e. Any suggestions?

If you can't afford to contribute $3.50 per month to help keep it afloat, I doubt you could afford to own it. BTW, reading posts isn't compulsory.

Paint the discs candy apple. BTW, my candy is quite unstable at any speed. Good one day, not so good the next. I can't work it out. I've done quite a bit of research on it and they say no two candy's are ever alike. I wonder if Vivian had to bring half a dozen different candy jump suits to the photo shoot, or even change them during the session (that would have been interesting). So when Time Warp asks me how do you like your candy? I say, any way it comes!

phil

If you compare mine to Oldball's, they really aren't the same are they? I'm told they tend to go orange if left out in the sun. I haven't tried that yet. So it seems that those of us who have them are all getting around with different versions. Takes all types to make the world go round, I guess.

Seems also, even Vivian had two different versions of candy. I can't decide if I prefer the top or the bottom offerings. But I do like them both. I wonder if they were interchangeable?

Also auldblue, this is an example of candy that's been left out in the sun too long. But the girls still look very interested regardless.

Rohan said all Commando owners with a bike that looks like this, should be riding Velocettes instead. What a shameful thing to say in a public Norton forum!!

And a great colour scheme in excellent condition is going to be overpainted like a Velocette.
(sorry all those black-n-gold owners already out there - including me, I have tank n sidecovers in that scheme !)
Is it April 1st ??

I never did see the attraction of painting bikes to look like a mobile wake.

Jerry take note.
The paint police will be watching you VERY closely.

The drinks are on you tonight, just had a word with J.R and he has just confirmed my barrels are scrap, so that's another bag of sand down the Swanee river for new pots and them piston things. Time to get the harmonica out and the workshop dog on a piece of string and head up sauchiehall street for the busking.

Rohan and olChris hit it off after telling Frank to pull his head in. He wasn't even born in 1949!!
