Does anybody know why the Norton Combat 750 cylinder bores do not have a taper at the bottom of the barrels to aid piston insertion.

If yours have been rebored and the taper not reinstalled by the reborer its nothing to do with the factory but the reborer. Mine are at+20 and the taper is there.
