Acotrel as for better cam timing the after market performance cam in my engine had 3 keyways so by using one or another and the more usual trick of advancing the idler and retarding the cam you could fine tune the timing.

I won a bet against a big city hot rod-race engine builder that my path for V8 power on gasoline or propane would make more hp than cubic inches and did after we dialed in the jet boat cam on dyno runs that cost me $250 a pull. The last pull of 4, I had to pressure him to try 0.5" degree more adv from last time and that did the trick! Out did the hp flow ratting of the single carb fitted.
Fine tuning makes significant difference between just a high pitched voice or shattering glasss don't ya know.

So If I mainly wanted to do lower speed lugging, parking lot stunts and wheelies rather than stress tire speed ratings - whats the sense of how much advance to try on first attempt to reset 2S cam or just leave it as is? My Issue is Trixie pulls about at hard as my SV650 and rather harder after 90 mph so want power curve to rise more till the ton then fall off rather than tempted by its over the ton urgency to get me arrested or hurt on un-tamed Commando.

I hate wrenching on non customizing recoveries so plan is cryo temper known wear items and hard coat the bores and friction coat the cam/liters so maybe last time I have to do major tasks on Trixie.
