I watch some YouTube each night. Tonight was looking at old Rolling Stones and related concerts when I came across a video that was 15 minutes old saying that Mick Jagger had died on the way to the hospital. So, I checked all the main news outlets and there is no such story.

I hope (and think it was) it was just click bait. I'm 72 and 78's (I think). When I see him on stage, I wonder what the hell happened to me - I can barely breathe just walking the grocery store.
 
Yes Greg, but Mick had a lifetime of clean living and regular hours.

I saw the Stones in 2018, I was 50 and Jagger was already well into his 70s.

Watching him bounce around all over the place like a teenager was amazing. Those boys act out the rock n roll character, but in reality they must leads the lives of Olympic athletes !

It was a very helpful wake up call for me, I told myself I gotta ‘keep the decay at bay’ and I’ve been telling myself that ever since, and have managed to keep myself much healthier. I feel SO much better for it too.
 
I went to see them at Wembley in 82
I remember thinking I must see this band because they were getting old and couldn't carry on much longer!!

I know what you mean - that's why I watch them, and others from time-to-time. Reminds me to get up and do something! Some days I don't want to work on motorcycles, but since it is so much better for me than computer work, I do at least some every day.

Just keep trying working at it!

I've had some setbacks that caused long periods of inactivity and every day sitting doing almost nothing takes a big toll. Very long story, but I spent 16 months with almost no use of my left arm and nearly as long with my right bicep tendon torn 90% thru during the same period. That aged me greatly.

In perfect hindsight, had I tried a fourth orthopedic surgeon right away rather than believing the three who all diagnosed my shoulder incorrectly, those 16 months could have been 8 and my arm would not be so weak. Once I did see the fourth, I had surgery the next day and the eight months of PT which got my arm usable but still very weak. I've worked on it ever since. I did the PT on my other arm myself and it's healed but still somewhat weak.

Oops - 3am - should be sleeping. Had a steroid shot in the morning - motor mouth, motor fingers, and no need for sleep.

Ya, in 1965 (I think), they released "Satisfaction" as a single. I was 15 or 16 depending on the month. I remember walking home from somewhere in the rain with my transistor radio the first time I heard it. Some things are really important in a life - that's one of them for me. When you listen to the original now the technology was so much worst, and I was hearing it in an AM transistor radio, but I will always remember.
 
Sadly, the web is flooded with "sewage" that makes it more tedious to get what you want.

My ruptured biceps tendon was sudden & complete, the muscle piled up at my armpit like a cartoon window shade.
20 minutes of nausea.
Blessedly, the Orthopedic doc was a MASTER and put it back like new.

I'm a youngster.
Seger's balads are permanently etched in my mind, "travellin man"
Struck a chord, still does.
 
I’m spring chicken at 54.

Although most kids like to rebel against their parents, I inherited a love of motorcycles, and the Stones, from my Dad. He went to see them in Hyde Park, London, when I was 1 year old !

So I spent many a mood filled teenage evening in my bedroom listening to the Stones. It might not have been ‘new’ or even ‘current’ but it still had the same effect on me as it did you Greg !
 
In the same vein I saw John Fogarty play last September. He is now 77 I believe and he brought just as much energy to every CCR song as he did 50 some years ago. Two of his sons are band members with him. Life is inertia, if you let it bleed down it takes a lot more energy to get the flywheels spinning at speed again.

CCR's "Fortunate Son" was excellent no matter what you thought of the Vietnam War. As the son of a USAF father and being 19 in 1969 to say I was conflicted was an understatement. In a way, the song was written about people 19 in 1969 but the patriotism of living military not liking the way the uninvolved were protesting was very conflicting. It's one of those songs you can enjoy no matter how closely you listen to the lyrics.

Similarly, Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". I bet most listening today would think it's about some of the (mostly) inner city problems of today, but it was really a Vietnam War protest.
 
There's quite a bit on it on the Internet now. Looks like it started as a Twitter Hoax and spread. The one about Mick I saw last night on YouTube has been taken now but there are still many more between one month and years ago all mixed in with actual celebrity deaths.

I agree with Fast Eddie. For anyone who understands such things, that's a perfect statement.

That's the very thing happening in my life. I've been saying "I've lost my mojo and I'm trying to get it back" but that's more mental than physical and the physical is what's affecting the mental in my case.
 
Saw the Stones in 76 at Earls Court and again in 2013 at Glastonbury - still one of my favourite bands. I watched Woodstock again the other day, I think it looks less dated now than it did 20 years ago!
 
Mick died 5 years ago. They use a heavily made up double that lip syncs to keep the money machine going. Keith surprisingly is still alive
 
Saw the Stones in the 70's, I think 1975, at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville Fl. While we were all still young. Great show with a noticeable smell of weed in the air.
