center stand

My center stand has a lot of movement while I'm riding. It keeps jumping up and down - sometimes hitting the ground. is this the spring? I tightened the bolts - they seem good.

I noticed that my centre stand is a bit limp when retracted, but it shouldn't be so limp that it touches the ground while riding. I would say the spring is a bit 'tired' so you should replace it. While you're at it, you can check the fit of the bolts and spacers securing the stand to the gearbox cradle. They often wear the holes in the cradle. I made up new spacers to suit that are a tight fit in the cradle and eliminated any slop.
