Best Movie Featuring a Norton

Its not a movie, but the TV show 'Psych' used to feature a Commando in the opening credits, but I had not seen it in a while. Then, in this week's show, the bike was featured in a car chase at the climax. Black and Gold Roadster, looks like a '71.

Another Aussie one , Stork , you dont see much of the bike though

Isn't that movie outlawed in the US :?:

Nahh, I just saw a glimpse of it on cable a few months ago. Besides, it was the favorite movie of Obama campaign volunteers. Even the press reported on the propensity for the Obama campaign headquarters in various states to have Che' posters prominently posted.

I watched "The Machinist" staring Christian Bale and Jennifer Jason Leigh the other day
There's a scene where the camera pans past a Norton drum brake and front end in his appartment.
It's in scene for maybe a half second. I'm telling the wife "That's a Commando brake"
She's saying "Where"?
Very iconic shape.
Like the timing case cover...

We had Easy Rider on free-to-air TV over the weekend here and there's been a fair bit of discussion over it on other bike forums.
At the start the guys rock up on their traillies:

I reckon Hopper's bike might just be a Norton. Two pipes up the side, big transfer case. What do you reckon?
(I've enhanced the image as much as I can, but you can't make pixels out of nothing, it was only standard def.)
I think a bit later on, there might be another shot where it's on the back of the ute, but under a tarp.

That's definitely a P-11 in that pic. The other bike appears to be a Bultaco Pursang.

Motorcycle Diaries was playing around here when it was new. I never got around to seeing it. I may have been turned off a bit because I'm not a big Che fan. I should get over myself and rent it to see the Norton.

The Motorcycle Diaries was a GREAT movie! (politics aside)

Here we go - both pipes def on the LHS:

Thought P-11s had one pipe each side? Or maybe just a custom system?

An episode of that new cable show "Rubicon" features a Commando with secret stuff hidden in the seat.

I agree, Motorcycle Diaries is a great one... I love the scene in the beginning when they're first leaving Buenos Aires, start up the bike (its an International, isn't it?) and there's a pint of oil on the street below it!

As far as Che and the commies go, I don't think the film was an endorsement of that failed economic dogma, but a rather blunt portrayal of the desperate poverty and inequality that fermented it all.

The main character in the USA network TV show Psych, rides a 850 Commando early in the series, he eaven crashes it. I know it's not a movie, but there are slim pickings.

this is simply fantastic!

I didn't know such series exist, it is not arrived yet here, but I googled a lot and I found the right episode, cutt the piece (there is also another small one with the commando) and put here on my channel:

It is real amazing!

I see the first seven or eight episodes of Psych but the commando appeared just in the first three. I'm wainting to see if it appears again wacthing more episodes....
In the first three the commando appeared many times but just for a few seconds...just the crash scene is a bit longer...do you know if it is coming to appear again in the following episodes?

Thanks a lot
Andrea

From what I remember the crash scene was one of the last appearances. It used to be in the title sequence. Thy have since taken it out. I think it is in only the first few episodes of season 1.

Just saw gene hackman crash what looks like an es2 in Eureka... There seems to be a central theme of norton's crashing in most of these movies
