Just realised on going through the engine for the Seeley Mk4.
One) I cant send off the crank for balancing untill i have cut the pockets for the re angled head in the pistons.
Two) I have to dummy build the engine & have not got a 41mm valve to make into a cutter
Three) The crank needs re polishing as it has surface rust
four) Time is running out! The balancer needs the inner race removing from the crank & I dont have the special tool. I usually grind an angle into the back of these to allow a small chisel to go in.
To this end my friend John has offered me his spare Atlas sprint engine.
This is balanced to 74 percent & set up with carbs & Boyer.
Questions
One) Fitted into my frame ie tilting forward how will it effect scavaging?
Two) I would have to alter exhaust pipes ie at cylinder head?
Three) I would have to use a alloy or fibreglass primary cover?
Any thoughts?
Thanks Chris
