Anyone up for a Norton Electric in 2-3 years

Because it worked so well for Harley. Actually the Zero is a great bike though
Hat's off to Harley though, they must know the V-Twin's days are numbered and started investing ahead of other manufacturers then put an E-Bike in their line-up way ahead of the competition. Kudos to them I say.

Not at 30K starting price. Not going to appeal to the Tesla crowd either. It was not a success and the reviews( the real reviews) said so. Novelty and cool sure. The smart thing they did was split the company and try to bring the price down. They sold some but you don't see them on the road here.

My thought was if the motorcycle market had enough interest Tesla and their battery tech would be in it.

If it is vaguely affordable i will be in. Like it or not it is the way the world is going.
There is a news article up on the Norton website now, talks of touring range - that will be a big challenge.
I dont see Tesla doing anything on two wheels, unless they sell technology rights to someone. There is a 12 month lead time on Tesla orders here at the moment, they have enough on their plate it seems.

Considering they are way down the development of an electric bike, yes they have already built one in Warwick University, this is no surprise.
The parent of Norton in Singapore is heavily into the electric and autonomous vehicle development.
In the current climate, production could be some time away, lack of materials etc will be denting progress in many projects at the moment.

Not really a Norton topic but EV in general.
Have done the Czech rally and blasting around Italy Germany etc, the distances are vast. Bloody big lorries carrying huge loads up very steep mountains through tunnels that seem to go on for ever.
It’s going to be a very long time before the infrastructure is ready never mind the battery technology.

Has anyone watch the Long way up series?
Ewan Mcgreggor and Charlie Boorman

They used Harley Livewire bikes. And support by Rivian. I’ve seen both the Livewire and the Rivian trucks in person, to me the Rivian is the best looking EV truck on the market.

Just wonder how real the “long way up” down and round series are. Most likely not to much because it’s like all other reality shows.

When I see something like that, and it just happens to be something I actually know something about, it just makes me think ‘how much else do they tell us / show us that is just plain WRONG’ ?!?
In the US it's called infotainment.
Information for amusement purposes only.

There isn't enough space for installing an auxiliary piston engine on account of the voluminous battery pack . A rotary engine or a gas turbine might work though. However, I don't think Norton will go down that alley, failing the "zero pollution" predicate.

Their aim to create a touring bike falls short of today's battery technology. It's very difficult to exceed a 250 km / 155 miles range. So, the bike - if it materializes - will be a short range and commuting bike for now.

The UK has taken forever to install wi-fi ,
How long for a creditable charging net work.
Speaking to person in Belgium who is actually on this site who’s job was in electrical distribution said the the system can’t cope and the cables will melt under the ground!!
