I once thought all this was figured out long before my time but see its all still up in the air for shoot out show downs. The system that show most power under the curve makes sense to focus on refining. I had 3 surprising engines I was just farting around with so so normal power to shock me on their wake up. 10 hp Outborad I guessed on drilling tiny holes a bit bigger, a dual 4-2-1 crossed over dual Van V8 I called ole Blue but evryone else exaimed Milliniaum Falcon and Ms Peel 2-1-mega that was just so so ok Combat till in frustration shoot a hole in mega end plate to really be pissed at myself *twice* - not pleased by ending up on tail lens then just past seat till it struck me I really had been locked in tucked gripped not caught by novice surprise- so just needed to lighten up on throttle snap so I could take the squirt on 3rd try - then Shit Eating grin hurt my ears and still does.
BUT who knows what your engine combo likes as in my V8 build it took last dyno with 0.5 cam degree advance to break past hp rating of carb to win bet against the nay saying race builder. Just realize in each of these suddenly half accident perky engines, it helped enough to tease with others doing immature things and police encounters. Remember I have no DL to collect points on nor insurance hits on, for decades.
The most low down over powered thing I had was the P!! that could not lean but so so easy to break free from stand still w/o brakes ya just sort of naturally become a stunt rider in close quarters as just naturally easier and more fun. The next too much low down was the 406 Chevy V8 that would lift van front from standing and tended to roll tires off two rims at once, ugh.
I have seen drag and road racer riding easy in pits crowds like pussy cats so why not yours and my brutes too?
There is also some concern about wheelies if too rambunious and it suddenly leaps on cam and pipe. My dragster was 2 inch lower to make up for this and Peel will have provision to tuck down to just smoke if too much or leap if just right.
