Motion Pro tool used instead of butchering a timing cover when removing /fitting cam shaft sprocket. Ah the curse of the DPO, makes life interesting, but as for farming being the second oldest profession sometimes it feels like the oldest profession , only you are paying everybody else to screw you.
Good wee tool that, I chopped an old cover £20 at a jumble.

If you loosen the cylinder base bolts evenly, it should lift the barrel, breaking the cylinder loose from engine case....

I have one of those...great for removing and installing clutches, holding all those funky parts that I used to use a screwdriver or a penny stuck in the gears. :D

That is a really funky Kawasaki...what do you do about that on the registration? Would drive me nuts. In fact it is driving me nuts :D

I think that left rear shock might be from a Kawasaki :D

Got the registration sorted out. It is now in my name. The shock is from a cb750 honda I am fixing up. I have the Norton shocks on a shelf after a little paint and polish.

I like what you are doing (its so shiny) 8) . I have the same avons but I went with WM4 alloy rims.

I know you have already buttoned up the bottom end, but I would strongly recommend dismantling it removing and separating the crankshaft and cleaning out the sludge trap in the middle. Make sure you mark the left and right crank cheeks in relation to the flywheel as they can bolt up either way, but the factory balance holes are only relevant in the original orientation. You should always renew the con-rod nuts when you take them off as they are a single-use lock nut.

Does this clearance look OK ? Installing the head. Had to back off this 1 valve adjuster to the max to get the head onto the jug. All rods are in their pockets top and bottom. Had to wiggle the crank to get it to this point. Wondering if I can tighten down the head and that tiny crack will get taken up by the valve spring ? Thanks in advance.

Got my gearbox rebuilt with new bearings and 1 new bushing that was seized in the 2nd gear and had to be carefully hack sawed out.

Did not realize I did not have the main shaft and bearing fully seated which caused a no shift situation after I slid all the gears back in. Another tap with the mallet got things lined up so the cam plate could move the gears into place. Only took about a dozen tries! Notched an old screwdriver to get the kick start spring on and off.

Has been awhile since I posted last. Finally got it running this a.m. First couple of kicks got a backfire but a few later it came to life with a roar! Just need to get it safetied, plated and insured. Whenever I had a problem, a search here usually found the answer quickly, like this morning when I had no spark on my Boyer. Had it plugged into the wrong white yellow wire! Such a wealth of knowledge here! Many Thanks!
 
Too bad you missed a few pix during that time warp, but great that it's up and running.
