I've been going down that road myself with a Triumph project. Jay Brake seem to make some nice plain ones, not blingy or obtrusive. price is decent as well.
You can always drill out the Magura levers for 1" but in my opinion, the Magura stuff looks cheap and crappy. Kind of like you just took them off an old mountainbike from 1987. I have a Magura clutch lever and I hate the thing.
Some older stock HD controls are nice if you do some grinding. Carve out all the extra material near where the stock HD switches would be and the levers clean up nice.
I will check into the jaybrake and new bonnie stuff. I also thought about just releaving the bars where the controls mount. Still undecided but thanks for the input. When I figure out what I'm gonna do I'll let ya'll know.
Jbrake is too much for my blood right now. I found a brake/MC on fleaby brand new for $49 shipped. Now I need to find the clutch perch and I'll be set.
If anyone ever changes over to 1" bars, I bought a MSR clutch perch and handle for a dirtbike today. I removed the plastic sleeve and it clamped onto the bars with no issue. The cable also went right in after I cut off the plastic cover that surrounded the metal barrel. I ordered a 1" M/C off fleabay and will have it in 2 days.
