Pressure release valve on a 961

He said that Stu is going to help him with the pump. I like the external oil pump design.
I am just showing my frustration with the way things are going with Norton. It might be different if I lived in the UK , maybe I would be more understanding. At least then if I pushed hard enough I could get spare parts from them. But as things stand for me now , I don’t know how I would ever buy from them again.

Hi Tony, I posted the link for the oil filter references and other info. Which I believe will become more valuable in future ( possibly including TVS owners sadly).

Was the spares request being made of a Norton dealer spares department? If it was, what reason was provided for not being able to supply? Seems we’ve only got half of the information.

We might be lowest priority but have still been receiving spares coverage for Donington bikes. Most are going through Krazy Horse I think. They supplied me last time I needed parts.

I don’t know why anyone is surprised that Norton’s parts department is once again a failure. It’s not like they ever cared about supporting the 961 anyhow.

Hey Tony did those engines that guy was selling come with oil pumps attached?

When I was ordering parts I was asked to go to Judd Racing. I get zero answer back from Judd . So you are having luck with Crazy Horse?

Sorry Tony, it’s been a while, it was Judd. You might remember the last time we had difficulty getting spares, I rang around several of the dealers to try and find out why.

From memory, there was no problem ordering spares but they said that Norton were slow to provide even the parts they were looking for - Norton were prioritising production from memory. Most were being channeled through Judd though I believe, which backed things up at Judd.

Not an acceptable outcome, but we’ll always be the lowest priority - especially if they’re busy and your enquiry is coming from overseas. I’d ring in directly and speak to the spares manger. Harder to de-prioritise a bloke on the phone than an Email enquiry. Good luck.
