Watchings Queen's Funeral

Yep BMW's
Nothing British made here available

Brit Feds have long had a liking for BMWs.
I would have thought Triumph have models that could easily be adapted to suit, and built at Hinckley like the TFCs are claimed to be. But I guess they just like them BMs !

I have to say I was rather annoyed to see the hearse used in Scotland for her majesty was a Mercedes. I have nothing against the Germans, but what a bloody disgrace! A least once in England the hearse was a Jaguar.
It does seem to be a thing in Britain though. When British Airways was called BOAC someone suggested it stood for the Boeing only airways corporation, as they didn't choose perfectly good British aeroplanes.

Some History of the British Monarchy and German ancestors
On June 19, 1917, during the third year of World War I, Britain's King George V orders the British royal family to dispense with the use of German titles and surnames, changing the surname of his own family, the decidedly Germanic Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, to Windsor.

I tried to focus on other aspects as I figured it would be the beemers … was a nice send off for a very special Lady who did prefer Jags, etc ….

Thank you for the history lesson, but I am well aware of the German connection. The point I was making was that the British head of state, who was also born here, as was her father & grandfather, should be taken to her final resting place in a British made hearse. I really can't imagine the German chancellor being taken off in anything other than a German vehicle.

Does it really matter what hearse or bikes that the escorts are riding, she is dead and won't know, I watched the funeral right through and think it was a worthy procession for such a wonderful Queen, really you Brits always have something to complain or whing about, and the Queen did plan what she wanted to happen, so she did have some say in the proceedings as her funeral has been planned for a long time.

I doubt that she specified BMW motorcycles to lead her last parade.

Jaguar was bought by Ford (American) in 1990 and then by TATA (Indian) in 2008.
So, although Jaguars are made in England are they really British ?

Nissan made cars in Sunderland (NE England), perhaps they should make hearses
so they could be British hearses ?

And guess where a lot of the 'British' workforce come from??

Maybe she didn't want something to break down, a lot of folks like to plan their own funerals, Phillp planned his and even the way he wanted to be carried on top of a Land Rover to his design, when I go I want my 2 favourite Led Zeppelin songs played out loud and with my ashes to go for one last ride on my Norton, but by that time no one would know how to kick it lol.
Not all manufacturers make police bikes and hearses are specially made, you just can't go out and buy one.
