Not sure what you're saying. Is the date for 143958 Mar 71 and does the bike exist today?

I will search and get the stand mount , thanks
Thanks, I understand now. Yes, the fonts look different and the date appears wrong - but there are others with the date wrong. His plate does look like it was factory installed to me. Also, sometimes the year is before the month, sometimes is after the month, sometimes the year is 4 characters and sometimes 2. That's why I like to have the dispatch record data wherever possible.I put the number from the OP pics above the one on the plate posted. (They look different to me, font, spacing )
Yes it is a real bike as per the plate data posted.
Add it to your list if you like.

I used to live in 98115 for a long time as a kid. Pokes or John's Cycle?I bought it from Seattle, WA 98115.
It has a spendy invoice (somewhere) from a Brit shop you might have mentioned up that way.

Don't know him. Maybe @seattle##gs does?Yes John's British Cycle, the guy I bought it off was L L'Heureux.
The frame number on the OP bike identifies as a 1970 not a 1971.
Wait... WHAT?????Just received my 71 project this morning .
this came out of Canada but by the free freight system it took about 3 months .
Yes, but if the certification label is original, it didn't get to the dealer until at least Mar 71 so it was most likely originally titled/registered as a 71 which is one of the common headaches with Nortons. My best guess is that it was supposed to be an Oct 70 bike but something caused that serial number to be delayed at the factory. The frame number on the OP bike identifies as a 1970 not a 1971.
It is the origional cert label . Numbers match drive components .Yes, but if the certification label is original, it didn't get to the dealer until at least Mar 71 so it was most likely originally titled/registered as a 71 which is one of the common headaches with Nortons. If you sort the Norton Tracker here by engine number, you'll see others throughout with the same issue.
...
if I remember right , in the old days they wrote things on paper .
