I just replaced my junk and unreliable Shorai LFX 18A1-BS12 with a new LFX 19A4-BS12.
The 18A in my Dominator was about 2.5 years old and from about 10-12 months old would never hold a charge even while on the charger.
The 18A in my Commando is nearly 4 years old and is always on a charger will strain with “click click click” on the first 1-3 attempts even with letting the head light warm up the battery and watching the volt meter in the gauge to make sure it’s at least 12.5+ volts before cranking.
The new 19A I installed in my Dominator Sunday is dimensionally smaller yet stronger. We’ll see how this one last and works over a period of time. If it fails I’ll either install a cut off switch or go to a different battery.
Also: I replaced the charger as well on the Domi. Shorai changed the the charge cables.
