That’s interesting. Considering that the engine and cradle are holding the swinging arm and wheel in place and are therefore crucial to alignment I’d have more confidence in the guy who said he wants the engine in. Presumably he’ll actually check that wheel alignment is all good.

With a bare frame, all that can be checked is the bare frame is correct to spec, any issues with isolastics, cradle, swing arm, etc can’t be checked.
Richard at Wasco wants me to send him the cradle and swing arm, along with the frame.

I read this. None of the people involved are alive any more. I tried to contact them.

I would send the article to your man at Wasco. If he can hold the tolerances in the article I’d go with him.

WASCO has spare Norton engine cases

He does sound like the bloke to take it too
And as komando says it's only mild steel

The exchange on the British Pound is 1.22:1. Which is lower than it has been in a long time if ever. Did they give you any idea of what it might cost to ship it?

I recently purchased a crankshaft for a Perkins diesel out of England and to my amazement they shipped it to Alaska via UPS for about a hundred USD. I can't get stuff from Seattle via UPS for a hundred bucks. So I don't know how the international rates work but it was cheap. Five days from UK to Alaska.
