oil change while on the road?
I would likely not toss the adapter, rather put it in the tool kit in case you are on some back country town road and only the american filter is on the shelf and you don't want to wait a day for the parts delivery man.

For me I can save a bit at local shop having them bring in a box of filters for me , I have 2 bikes the filter works on , lots of same components on Griso as Duc , too bad the filter is different , then it would be 3
I order WIX filter by the case from fleetfilter.com for $7.31 each.

There is zero chance I will be that far from home. I'm both too chicken and will never have that much time.

I had to jack up the front of the cradle. Unless your engine is out it you probably won't have the same issue.

Once I had that taken care of the the filter loosened with just a couple swear words. I suspect if you try to loosen the filter the entire way with the socket still on it will hit the tire.

I've been using the Baldwin B474 filter on my Commando for years. No adapter necessary. Might be available at local parts stores but I usually get them from Old Britts, ordering a couple whenever I have some other items to order from OB.
