All the time, but seriously, I flew a Spitfire. Na Na Na NA NAH.
Having worked for Lucas on their fuel systems you probably used more petrol than the plane...My buddy's Spitfire only did about 90. My TR6 did quite a bit more.
Clive,Ref the smart motorways there have been reports of the speed cameras on the M1 and M25 being set to 72mph with an instant ban at 90mph.
Only a real asshole would then go beyond a telling off.

Not a big differential needed, 40 + 10% =44 so 45-50 will set the flash off... I got flashed at 36 in a newly designated (reduced) 30 zone and got the official bollicking when I went to pay the fine at my local police station - a while ago when yellow boxes were new!Wise words indeed. Seems the 72mph M1 M25 news was just a badly regurgitated tweet, however when I was on the M42 in a 40mph section yesterday several cars were being flashed who didn't seem to be passing me all that quickly. Note that you only need to be followed for 1/10 mile to get a ticket. At 90 you're doing 1.5 miles a minute so do the maths....
Passenger, but It's dual control and you get to take over. You just have to breath and it goes where you want and the Pilot sarcastically says "I've never heard anyone say Bandits 12 o'clock before". It's very like a 961, Hand built, stunning to look at, rattles like FEK runs very rich and your never sure if it's going to get you home... as passenger or pilot?
If you happen to come upon a WWII Vet, please don't pass up the opportunity to walk up to them and thank them for their service. To a man, they will tell you they were just "doing their job" when, in fact, what they did was save the World. We owe them everything.Passenger, but It's dual control and you get to take over. Clive,
Two of the family are Police officers, one worked in traffic. There is an unwritten rule of 10% error so an indicated 75 could give you the benefit of you actually doing 70 ish. You need to be doing well in excess of 85 to make the motorway cameras flash - unless it is a 50mph limit
They are more concerned with stupid speeds or dangerous driving - if stopped at 80 on a fast road, be polite, apologetic etc. Only a real asshole would then go beyond a telling off.

My Uncle flew Blenheims then Halifaxes, and my Dad was in the Navy. In the late 70s the Firm my Dad worked for was taken over by a German Company, and ironically, the Manager they put in place was an ex Luftwaffe Navigator!!!. My dad retired very soon afterIf you happen to come upon a WWII Vet, please don't pass up the opportunity to walk up to them and thank them for their service. that wasn’t the BSA version then.......!Slightly off topic, but last August I did well over 300mph in a Spitfire over RAF Duxford. I know it's not nice to boast, but I don't care
Check this out.
That thing sounds bad ass for a RC too. That's some really good RC flying. The camera work is excellent. So difficult to video fast paced aerial.
Lmao. Those RC guys have got WAY too much spare time on their hands...
Us RC modellers now do it all in software. Why risk hours of building being wasted by some trucker with a home made CB radio burner. Goodbye balsa wood and doped tissue paper; hello to photo-realistic 3d modelling, VR headsets and hours in front of a monitor. And all that fresh air can't be good for you.....Lmao.
Maybe so, but it keeps them out of trouble. If I had that plane I’d be heart broken because I never flown one and I’m sure it would end in a crash n burn lol
