I finally have 6000 miles on my 961

Quite right. In reality though, unless you’re and OCD cleaner, you’ll most likely miss bits somewhere.

On a modern plastic bike it’s much less of an issue. But on a naked bike, made largely of steel and alloy, it’s tricky ensuring zero salt remnants.
I hosed my bike down after the last wet ride and I think the small area of pitting on my rear rim is where the biked was left to drip dry and the salty water collected. I should have gone over with a blow dryer but hey ho, no different to my past 40 years cleaning habits lol

I have already started to leave my marks on the tank and my seat has developed an area where I just know it will split in the next month or so..... come mid-Summer I will have a bike that really will look an unrestored example from the 70's

This is total bullshit. sigh  I mean... I like the snow and all, but only rode about 150 miles in the past month. Oh...and good on ya, Mx for hitting 4500 at 75. Your getting to enjoy the torque. Glad SOMEBODY is getting out there. Hard core!!

It’ll be worth a fortune to the retro vintage hipster brigade then!
I think they might all be in Norfolk judging by the attention the bike got!

I did my first petrol station fill up yesterday whilst briefly in Norfolk and had lots of admiring glances and thumbs up from other motorists, one gent stuck in traffic wound down his window and shouted his approval across the carriageway at me! Anyways, whilst topping up the tank I had one motorist come over to tell me all about his 'Bonnie' and asked me how old my Norton was... I replied '3 weeks' and I could have knocked him down with a feather lol... (a BIG thank you to Morrisons fuel attendant who kindly let me off the 80pence I owed when I put in more juice than I could pay for!)

Norfolk... good biking roads, a much underrated County, looking forward to seeing a little more of it this year on the snortin Norton :)

No really. Total bullshit. No riding today.

I feel your pain. I took a ride to the shed where all my bikes reside yesterday. With snow banks up as high as 5 feet I had no place to park my truck, let alone get into the driveway. And the roads will turn to mud once it all starts melting ... someday.

I also had a local shop reassemble my '75 850 over the winter and need to pick it up soon. But where do I put it?! o_O

In the living room in pure British fashion.

Got my last ride in before 1st service... 487 miles currently on odo and a 75 mile run to Donington to come... job done (except for the polishing) :)

Well done!

What’s the score with the service, do you have to stay overnight to allow it to cool? Do they do while you wait? How long does it take?

Service is pretty standard, about hour and half I think Olivia said. I plan to get there late-morning, take missus for a spot of lunch then pick bike up and Olivia was ok with that. 'The Missus' is needed on this trip 'cos I got the decat exhausts to take down so I need to keep her entertained otherwise I would have booked a road test on a nicely run-in Dommie lol.

Strewth !

Just got up, looked outside and...

ITS NOT RAINING / SNOWING !!!

Seems like the first blue sky in eons.

I might even drag that 961 out today...

How was the ride, any stop offs for coffee? how does it sound with the decat and shorties

I was fortunate enough to get out for a short scoot yesterday. 52F at the house. About 48F at the beach. 8520

I wish the weather would warm up a bit more. My bike is cleaned and lubed , aired up , charged up and ready to ride . I put about 10 miles on this year so far .
