I finally have 6000 miles on my 961

68 miles now boyz, wahoo!

The cafe racer riding position is sure authentic (def need to carry ibuprofen)!!
I did 47mile on first run out and was ok. Yesterdays run was 65mile on the first leg and I still felt quite 'fresh' but I reckon somewhere between 80 - 100 mile would be prime time for wee/cig/coffee/ibuprofen/petrol in that order lol

PS: I now have 139 mile (on paper) and 156mile on odometer (the last time it worked!)

I don’t smoke, so I’ll have two coffees instead.

I find my back is fine, it’s my wrist that cop it, followed by numb fingers! I’ve broke both wrists at various times (along with a few others) and I don’t think that helps much.

I’ll look into the gel Pro-Grips suggested by others previously, every little helps!

The riding position will come into its own on the right roads when cracking on a bit me thinks.

I got bad numb throttle fingers yesterday, clutch hand wasn't as bad. I found that on the straights I could ride with just my fingertips on the bars while 'exercising' my hand muscles and getting the blood to flow again.

Get the high bars , you will be able to ride with more comfort for much longer.

Yeah, well said Tony !
It will also prevent the general public from having to watch silly old men with their asses in the air pretending to be Guy Martin trundling past them on noisy motorbikes,
When they really should be at home cutting the lawn . ;-)

Since when did Guy Martin have a monopoly on looking old and silly! (hmm that reminds me, must stop trimming my sideburns)

PS: got introduced to a sheep farmer last Autumn so that's my lawns taken care of this year :)

Well now you’re really showing your ignorance...

It’s not grass cutting season yet...

Mr Apehanger....

Mr. Apehanger !
Hey I quite like that moniker, might have to change my forum name.
As long as I don't become mixed up with a resident of Hartlepool :)

Seem to remember the good people of Hartlepool had a dislike of monkeys, when do you get your bike now Sam?

Hi Sam, contacted the factory today as expected my bike around the 20th of April but Clem told me it could be delayed. Just got to hope I get it in time for the good weather.

Well there's still five weeks till the 20th April John, so it all might be ok .
I wouldn't be too bothered about a delay of a couple of weeks, although obviously I'd like it as soon as poss.

My goodness, so many people buying 961's.....
Pretty soon they'll be everywhere, like Hondas.
I'll have to buy a Royal Enfield, or Ural now to feel exclusive again.:p

Since I can't ride it, I might as well visit it. A bit of a sad sight, sitting in the corner of the repair section of a local dealership awaiting parts. When I picked it up off the road at the beginning of February it had 2014 miles.

Think your right Sam got some parts to fit to the G T 750 going to sort out garage this weekend and get ready for better weather. Went to see a mate last night and finished rewiring his restored G T 750 he builds Aston Martin classic cars . I live near Newport Pagnel and all my mates are involved in restoring Aston Martins this mates job is 1 off aluminium parts he recons he can make me a fuel tank.
The things these guys make are works of art unbelievable what they restore, he made tank for a triton i built. The one thing we have been talking about is rear sets for my bike as at 6 foot 2 think i might be a bit tall for my new bike.

My ODO says 267 miles :) Given that my bad starting/low voltage is now a thing of the past then I guess my 17mile discrepency is also history and I should just accept it!
