"The older you get, the faster they seem."
True, but I had a replica JPN in the late 1980's with a Norvil 920 conversion, you know the one with a Ford piston and the little ends bored out for the new diameter gudgeon pin, (and before I knew any better ;)) and on a long flat straight that was about 2 miles long, got the speedo to read a needles width above 120 mph. That is still the fastest that I've ever been on a Norton Commando assuming all other Norton speedo readings being equal.

Also I once travelled on my JPN from the Lake District to Beverley in East Yorkshire, and it gave me terrible tinnitus. They didn't mention that in the marketing blurb. :D (Pre ear plug usage).

I give Mr Leno a pass on a lot of his mistakes because he has something like 500 bikes and cars. I have four bikes and I cannot
remember what I have done to which many times. Besides, he bought the damn thing NEW! ....almost as annoying as buying his
Velo Thruxton new. It is easy to be jealous of him. Ever see the vid on just one of his houses...the one in Newport? I mean really....

Its all about money and if you had lots and the place to store them, well good on him, when I bought my Norton new back in 76 I had to get a loan for well over 1/2 the bike and it was my first major loan at 17 years old and was only getting about just over $50 a week and paid it off in less than a year, if you want something special then there is always a way to get it, but I went the other way and went to the Featherbed way lol.

I was quoting a line Leno used in the video. I laughed when he said it. I thought it was appropriate for Norton owners.

Sounds like fun. I know nothing about the Norton 920 engine or how it responds to throttle. My P11 would probably do 120 mph, but it would be frantic, and I would have to clean out my underwear. I saw 108 mph on it in the early 90's, but chickened out with the throttle. The suspension was not set up right for going that speed. I don't have enough no fear testosterone left to make me want to find out if it would hit 120 mph now. Besides it's not that safe at any speed with 7" SLS brakes on it.
