A case for the phrase: Perfect imperfections, from the song "All of Me" by John Legend
A prophetic quote that, fortunately, does not apply to Norton riders:
The Dalai Lama, was asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:
“Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
Current spring/damper offerings will not cover all road conditions at all speeds the rider may choose to challenge, yet. The better suspension components tend to have greater bandwidth and a broader "sweet-spot". Public roads have an incredible range of conditions, racetracks are much more predictable, but require a lot more attention to spring/damping rates to be competitive.
Setting up a suspension system is a compromise, like most of life's offerings, shoot for the middle, but be aware and prepared for the edges; from the prospective of suspension components you do get what you pay for, in the majority of cases.
Best.
