hmm, interesting! wonder if they are weatherproofed for MC use and if they work OK with positive ground

I've installed these on my laverda and am happy with them on that bike (the GPS speedo is cool - cost me about $450 for the pair delivered), but don't think i'd put them on my Norton. the laverda has ND gauges - funky sort of modern looking jap things things, at least by 70's standards - where as the veglia and the smiths are much more classic - the green globes are really one of the best looking instruments on a british bike thats not a chrono. if they give up the ghost (and mine have), you can get them rebuilt to a high stand for below the cost of the speed hut units - but call me a traditionalist all that glitters isn't gold

Yeah! Iv'e had the original vague liars fall to bits, then the smiths last about six months before self destructing, rebuilt then fall apart again, I ran a bicycle speedo for quite some time till I came across this unit while web surfing, I had to change the bike to negative earth, quite simple with the boyer and solid state rectifier, temp gauge works with a VDO sender unit and the tacho sorta works from the ign coil , speedo works real good and has been through some real torrential rain unscathed, 2800 klm's so far so good. I know the originality freaks wont like this but this bike is for riding!

Hey Fast Fred,

What kind of bicycle speedo did you use? I'm looking for one for my CH. Lots of 60's Sportsters are without speedos since using the factory drive is not great, due to goofy design. (one of many)
