What’s the best none Norton Norton ?

I’d love to thrash this beauty around the nearest race track - looks like awesome fun!

Except that feeling I suspect that you get, when some smart-ass comes screaming past you on half the bike at twice the speed!

Do love that Cafe Racer styling though!

We should’nt let this long term thread die - great for discussing other (than Norton) bikes!

I’ve said that I’d never sell my CR but…………………, I might swap it for this super stylish specimen!!

😄 Just realised that I posted this bike last year, DOH! What the heck - it’s beautiful enough to post twice IMO.

Anyone have any experience with an early 1971-73 MV Agusta 350B Sport?

Very nicely done! This would sit next to the Norton pretty nicely. It would need the triumph tank badge back on though!

You see I'm not the only one a bit unconvinced by this blacked-out obsession. A very subtle and nice customisation; the ugly-duckling Thruxton can be hugely improved with some shiny bits. Ref again the Unikat Thruxton.

I disagree strongly.

Black is the new shiny.

Best looking Thruxton is the TFC and certainly not that tarts handbag posted above.

Agreed Clive, although the Thruxton’s no ugly duckling😆!

Not normally a colour scheme that I would go for but it works pretty bloody well here! Very tasteful.

Like what they’ve done with the arse end too - looks a bit 961ish!

Sorry FE, Clive is correct on the backout, take it off, except for the cylinders!

All Dr Bob would have to do to this bike is slant the cylinders 15 degrees forward on the motor, replace the head with DOHC head, replace all the badges with genuine Norton badges, and his work is done, viola, the new Norton 1200.😁

Might as well stir it up (had a steroid shot yesterday so hard to keep my mouth shut): I like motorcycles that look like motorcycles, not bugs! Classic Norton (especially Combats), Classic Triumphs (especially unit construction), some Modern Triumphs (not the bugs), Classic BSAs all work for me. There are bunch more Classic Bikes that work and quite a few modern.

The bike above:
Front OK
Middle, does the bike have a frame, engine, etc. or is it electric? What is the olive drab thing?
Exhaust: Van Gogh design?
Rear: Wasp

My blacked out triumphs are less effort to keep clean than the ones with chrome have been.

I have recently (ish) found myself looking more and more favourably on the Thruxton.

Especially now they are more blacked out !

In particular, the TFC version. I have another TFC model and really do like the attention to detail that Triumph lavished upon them.

The TFC Thrux is looking more and more tempting.

Hopefully it’ll pass  🤞

You need to get this while it’s available for sale. As you know only 750 were available world wide. Would look great next to your TFC R3

Get the TFC thruxton. It’s the bike Stephen is trying hard to make his 961 into.

No, you just need a bigger "shed"!

Of course, there's my daughter in law's rule that I always break: "You only have one ass, so you don't need more than one bike!"
