A bit over styled to my simple eye.

But I wouldn’t kick one out of the shed, if it asked nicely…

I'm guessing that we now have to add a new term to the motorcycle lexicon:
Neo-Retro HyperSport

What's next,
Neo-Retro MegaSport
Neo-Retro UltraSport
Neo-Retro XrtemeSport
Neo-Retro QuantumSport
.....

Apparently they aren't great to ride on the road at legal or somewhat above legal speeds. They are very good at take-away-your-license and your bike hyperspeed.
There is not much happening powerwise until 8,000 rpm and a big flat spot at 5000 rpm. After 8000 they are insanely powerful, like pretty much all Sportbikes.
So if you want to do YouTubes at 175 mph past cars and semis while weaving in and out down freeway, this would be a great bike.
I like the body work, very pretty!

Or leave a big red mark on a highway abutment....

Never the less, it is a beautiful work of kinetic sculpture.
No one does it better than Italian designers.
Bravissimo!

@worntorn That's a shame to hear, I wonder what about the 1000 made it like that. The 800 was quite enjoyable. Seat is a tad thin though.....

Maybe the lack of power below 8k was a relative comparison to what was happening above? I’d guess the flat spot at 5k would be emissions related and solved with a pipe and map?

I’ve never ridden a 1000, but my 800 triple (with pipe and map) was an outstanding engine, really, really impressive.

That's likely the case.
It's quite common for modern Sportbikes to have a bit of a deadspot somewhere it seems. It makes the market in aftermarket pipes & maps, just about every bike gets the treatment.

The best non-Norton I have ever seen was the 750 SFC Laverda. The one in the photo of this article does not have the cross under the motor in the exhaust. But that cross might also be important fot Commando owners to know about. :

There was another Laverda production racer which was a smaller capacity and I think was a Corsa and 500cc . I saw one in a shop in Melbourne about 40 years ago. They did not sell. Both of those bikes would be worth having. I like bikes which make the hairs grow on my chest without scaring me shitless. I get turned on just thinking about the 750SFC. For what it was, it was excellent. I watched the JIm Eade Laverda trounce all the fast guys with their Z900 Kawasakis at Phillip Island in about 1973. It did it easily.

OK, forget everything else.
We need a Norton SkyCommando now!

Dr Bob could market a Genuine Norton Parachute, Headsup display helmet visors, leather jackets with wings insignia, Breitling NortonAviator watches, etc....
Think of the possibilities.

Reckon we’ve got about as much chance of getting a flying motorcycle in the next 3-5 years as we have a fully functioning, registerable electric Norton:D! Which is fine by me - look forward to the future and this stuff takes time, but more than happy ICE is part of Nortons future for the time being.

Breitling x Norton would ‘be the bomb’ - always wanted a Breitling but could never get it past higher authority, even for my forthcoming 60th! Bloody unreasonable if you ask me. Take your pick of Breitling x Triumph models - they’re the same as the Norton watch would be, but with more plastic bits and a feu crown!
