I'm a groin and saddle area man myself, top and front just extra icing on cake, hm, similar to Ms Peel iinks' function. Reminds me of a cartoon in a locker room, Sailor with a mermaid in lap is dropping her on the ground getting up so fast to meet the fish head top walking by - that was all woman from the waist down.

So Doug is able to ride an isolastic Commando neck and neck with a Sealy, Wow!
Oh My Oh My Oh My. So that's what's holding him back, Oh Boy Oh Boy Oh Boy!

BTW Kenny pointed out Doug and crew's motors to me saying them guys are getting like 90 rear wheel hp, similar to his back a couple years ago.
Many told me his crank dyno shows 100.4 hp/7200 rpm red line.
A good Vintage drive train only drags crank power down 10% or so.

That looks like fun riding around the track at that speed.
Shame of it is I am to afraid to try.
Great day!!!
Keep us slower lane riders informed

Isos are heavy and Commando swing arms and engine plates are overweight compared to solid racing frames. Weight is the enemy in racing. Expensive Racing cranks are doomed to break eventfully. You can make them last longer by reducing the reciprocating piston weight.

Kenny said
"Jim kept asking me, "does it vibrate?" and for the first few races I couldn't answer his question as I never noticed it one way or another."

Thats a significant difference from what one feels when hanging onto a solid framed Norton with heavy stock pistons shaking itself to death at redline.

Foxy, that' Brolly girl is EXACTLY what I need right now. Thank you!

I'll bet she knows a bit about how to break a crank!

PS Jim, what will you do to fix it and make sure it doesn't break again? Think it's worth it going to an ofset crank?

Probably just a new Maney crank instead of an old Maney crank, at least at this time. Of course thats up to Kenny. I'm going to let him post the pictures. Jim

Must have been all that power the Jim Schmidt pistons and rods made, as well as the Fullauto Technologies head. The poor old Brit parts couldn't keep up.

I heard a rumour that my head escaped almost unharmed though.

Well not sure if this is the place but I have to say, all you guys involved with kennys bike , you've done a hell of a job. That thing is haulin the mail and Like I have been dealin with when things break you know your making power.I can see we are going to have to spend some time in the shop this winter but hey, thats racin .see you guys at the track next time. A Triumph of the imagination, I fear. Hehe.

Aww shucks, what a nice thing for Tim (Phantom309) to say. For those of you who don't know, Phantom is Timmy Joyce, my biggest competitor, and without any question the fastest vintage racer out there in North America today. And he lurks here to see what I'm up to. Evil-doers are out there people. Anyway, there was some serious racing going on at VIR a couple of weeks ago and the Norton kept up with the pesky OHC Yamaha and that Triumph. In fact, dare I say it might have actually pulled them a bit.

Currently my motor is undergoing some open-heart surgery. I broke my crank at Mosport last weekend and a few bits got taken out with it. I will post some images soon in a new thread. But, Canaga/Schmidt/Comstock/Rambow/Cockram have all risen to the occasion and it will run again for Barber, in anger. Perhaps angrier than ever.

So, who's coming to Barber?
