Hi guys,

My rear brake is on the way to Vintage Brake for some TLC and I was going to replace the brake cable while I was at it. Anyone have any experience or recommendation of going standard v. heavy duty Venhill rear brake cable in a 70? My preference is to go with the heavy duty one, I just want to see how difficult it is to get properly installed. I spoke to the gentleman at Venhill and he mentioned that the hd cable is pretty stiff and some had returned them as being too difficult to work with. I have standard foot rest assemblies, pegs, etc.

Much appreciated guys.

I did not like the HD cable for this application. Too stiff to bend nicely around the obstacles of exhaust bobbins and have a nice angle into the fixings at each end.

The more flexible the better IMHO.
