To me this is pretty depressing. Maybe it’s just here in the US, but to see these values drop like a rock is disappointing.
So far $5000 and no reserve set.

Bidding still has 6 days left.
You know everybody's first bid is always a low ball.
Let's see what it eventually sells for.

It's been on a while no takers

I like how the owner titled his auction:

Norton 961 Commando Sport 2800 miles 2 owners not Triumph Thruxton / Speed Twin

Wonder if people kept asking him if it was Triumph...:p

It is a 2010 so, some may be leery that it was from a very early period when Donington had notable issues with many of the 961s produced, cam chains, clutches, crankshafts, and bearings, etc.

But 6 days remain in this auction too.

Don't forget this is not an auction

A similar one (2015) sold 10 days ago for $8,800 on the same BAT site, and I'm sure this one will also sell well above the current $5,000 bid. I bought my 2015 Sport over 5 years ago, in beautiful condition, with very low miles, for $9,800, so I'm not too surprised to see them still selling in the under $10,000 range. I've also seen a couple sell here in the US in the last year or so at significantly higher prices. Doesn't seem to depend on condition or mileage as much as luck in having the right buyer see your ad.

The top of the market right now is about $12500 with under 5000 miles, so this is no surprise on a bike that could have used a little clean up before listing. Also, this is a two-seater, not much love for those

I think $12500 is still depressing 😂

So;

What is likely the biggest forum on the internet for 961's arguably spends more of it's time criticising and bashing the bike and the new company than loving it.

And:

We're shocked at the lower sale price.
Not an argument worth starting Gj!

It's a great way to widen your search audience.....people searching Triumph or Thruxton will also see his listing, and may lead to them giving it a second look.

Like the reference to a Facebook page that other owners say its under-priced, well if its under-priced then why is it not already sold.

Who here doesn’t love the 961?
Who here wants the values to be only a fraction of its original price in being only a few years old?

It's the human condition, unfortunately.
We're complex creatures, who don't really understand ourselves.
Many of our relationships are love/hate relationships and we can't help it.
We love the concept of the 961, but hate some of the features/failures incorporated in its actual implementation.
These unresolved feelings boil to the surface, and drive us to strike out at the very thing that we love.:(
961 owners are a long suffering lot, have patients with us.

Are you a therapist? If so I need help because you understand me.

No, just a long suffering Norton masochist.
There is no help, we just learn to deal with it, some better than others.:p
Clearly I’m in the “sone other category “
I’m Scott and I need help.
