Installed rear turn signals purchased from an 3 years ago. Have tried everything. Lock washers blue lock tite always loosen and flash the ground. Also makes me look like an idiot. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

You need to post some photos of your configuration for a better idea of what you need to do.

I would expect Andovers turn signals to be quality but maybe not. I have a set of cheap aftermarket lucas copies and had the same problem. I drilled a tiny hole and put a pin in so they can't turn.

It depends which end of the stem it is (unless both?) as the stems and lamp housings should have flats to prevent the housing from rotating on the stem.

The thin nut goes on the outside of the washer preferably with a nyloc nut (and washer) on the inside of the bracket....

.....not as AN shows them.

I have those turn signals on my Commando which operates regularly over cobblestone roads and I promise you, nothing will loosen fittings as quickly/easily as cobblestone roads. I haven't had any trouble with them loosening using blue lock tight on the fittings. Not sure why you should be having a problem. If the fittings are TIGHT and blue lock-tited, they should be OK. OTOH, I had the OEM-type bar mirrors and even red loctite would not keep them from unscrewing! I had to replace them with bar-end mirrors.

Don't know how you are applying the loctite - be sure there is enough so that all the threads of the "engaged" fasteners have loctite present when you tighten the fastener.

Looking for a self-canceling flasher for LED signals.Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

I would think nyloc nuts, as LAB mentioned earlier would be the way to go, but there's no denying that drilled and pinned "ain't goin' nowhere"

Are you sure they are from AN? its the cheap copies that don't have the flats on the signal end of the stems and in the signal lamp housing that prevents them from turning down.

PJFlynn's post was from 15 months ago, thread has been resurrected by a query on timed flashing relay not on dropping indicator bodies. PJ has not been on the site since Jan.

That was my fault.First time I posted a thread

There were no flats on the stem in '72 anyway. There is a chrome locknut right against the plastic body. So there were two places it could rotate if the nuts were loose. I have seen no logo copies where the stems are imbedded in the plastic.

Any reason for not using a 2 part epoxy to secure the lense foundation to the to the stem?

Best?

I installed a M Stop - works great, flashes for 20 sec then cancels if forgotten. Only downside is you have to "re-indicate" at "long" traffic lights.
Not cheap but I would buy again if needed. BTW - I bought from ebay ($80 AUD including shipping)
They are solid state, only 2 wire installation and use 3 dip-switches to select the function you require.

...and the ebay one I bought - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133375303850
Cheers
Rob

Edit: sorry @PJFlynn for contributing to the thread hijack.

Thanks for the info. I will try one out as I hate seeing that I left them on.

Rob,
Do you use these in conjunction with the flasher?
No - it replaces the flasher unit, but doesn't need the earth wire (if I remember correctly)
Instructions are clear though!

Rob,
I ordered one of these (MotoGadget).Am I right in thinking a flasher relay doesn’t care if positive or negative earth if wired correctly?
A big plus is that it is way smaller than the LED flasher unit I am using now
