The greatest evidance god exists , is the C.I.A. had 364 ' schemes ' to assasinate him , and NONE of them WORKED .

Quite what this says about the C.I.A. is another matter , :D  .

Why get rid of your supposed antagonist? The conservative propaganda for Vietnam wouldn't have worked as well.

I figure , if theyed sent all the protestors and hippies to Vietnam , the ' enemy ' wouldve given up in two weeks , in discust . :p

Well the election is truely over and now its time to get over it, but the losers don't seem to want to except the resuals of Trumps win, HC and her party throught they had it in the bag but the people have decided otherwise and look at all these so call famous rich movie stars coming out on their night of fame having a cry about HCs lost and how the country is going down further, give the man a chance who knows things will change but things can't get any worst than what it already is, all the westren world is in a big mess at the moment, the usualy parties have been in power for so long they are running out of ideas, stick to the same old policies that haven't work, lets start another war somewhere to take the people mind off how really things are bad in the world.

Its happening in my own country, same old policies, same old tricks the pollies aren't listing to the people and once in power they are just looking after themselfs, telling us all to tighten our already tight belt, sending our troops of to a war we should never be involved in, and now all the troubles these self centred pollies spending public money on private planes when they can take a normal commercial flight etc etc no wonder the people are getting sick of the major parties and more and more people are voting for indapendent parties and minor parties.

Its about time the people jack up about these things every thing is going up, cost of living is getting harder as the wages are staying the same, house prices are getting out of reach of the young, people are working longer most till they die and last 3 or 4 PMs where so rich why would they want to be in politics, power more than anything, to feather their own nest, when will it all stop and start thinking about the normal people in this world, we need a change from the usual old things that haven't worked.

Well I have had my bitch session today but of course nothing will ever change, but there is always hope.

Ashley

Trump is the President America had to have. He is the natural extension of 'the cult of the individual'. Now Americans will have to decide what their values really are - INDIVIDUALISM or ALTRUISM ?

When I was growing up in the UK (1940's and 50's) using "rude" language was not allowed for kids. "Fart" was considered a swear word, and in the northwest where we lived, the substitute word was "trump". I've resurrected that, the other way round, and now refer to "The Donald" as "President Fart".

I was sure the U.S. had bottomed out with Nixon. I'm afraid tomorrow may prove otherwise.

Again, he spoke today in a blue collar dialect; it was inspired but in a language beneath the ken of the elites.

There's the divide.

I'm libertarian, I disagree with him, but not as much as I do with the old fashioned nostrums of the Democrats.
They are an embarrassment - petulant, reactionary, and too tolerant of their own hate.

Thats almost laughable - "LETS MAKE AMERICA HATE AGAIN" - its Trump thats going to stir up a civil war,
thats going to tear the USA apart ??

There is also the matter that many observers are commenting that there seems to be a BIG disconnect between the rhetoric and the actual doing ? While 'shaking up the establishment', his government is sweeping up the same old folk INVOLVED in the establishment - where/how are new policies and thinkings going to come from old tired minds, who seem more intent on preserving the same old status quo ??

The next few years are going to be interesting - seeing if Mr Trump and Co can be worthy successors to Mr Obama and his stable and nuturing policies that pulled the financial system, flawed as it may be, from the abyss, and kept world war 3 at bay and in the background...

There is also the minor matter of the time bomb ticking away of the experiment that humanity is doing to its atmosphere. 2016 is being reported as being THE hottest year yet recorded, with almost everywhere hotter than previous. Given that global extreme climate change would predict some areas of colder temps, there are indeed some patches of blue on that map...

This is going to need some serious action, or humanity is ultimately going to have to shrink, significantly. ?
And even politicians verbal verbage can't/won't control where the negative impacts will impact....

Trump seems to be doing well so far...

I don't see a specific connection between the previous post on climate change and the new President. Sure he pumps out megatons of hot air every time his mouth is open, but not enough to affect the Earth's climate.

Have you seen the trumps statements on climate change ?!!

Folks who don't have a clue should keep their mouth firmly shut...
Although its early days yet, hopefully someone with good knowledge of this will give them good advice.

Note though that there are folks who will tell you in all seriousness that the earth is not warming.
Refer to the mostly red little map above, the science couldn't be clearer...

Yes, Rohan, I'm familiar with the data on climate change and I'm very concerned. Our home's lot is across from a salt-water marina and is only 16' above sea level. At some point it will be waterfront, but probably not in my lifetime.

Nobody is going to change President Fart's opinion on the subject (or on anything else). His button is stuck on "transmit". With luck, the climate won't change too much before he's out of office.

While thats probably true, and maybe very true given the way the political winds are blowing !, once the polar ice caps are gone and planet earth has lost its air conditioning systems, all future generations on good ole planet Earth are going to face some rather more hostile conditions. And those polar ice caps are showing signs of stress already, so the sooner we get cracking on getting that particular evil genie under control and not escaping the bottle the better... ?

P.S. Did I see just a glimmer of diplomacy and conciliation in some trump statements just recently,
maybe there IS a president lurking beneath the bull-in-the-china-shop-demeanour ?

Great quote !, sums up this whole situation alarmingly well...

I don't see anything in President Fart that suggests any likelihood of a change in demeanor. My only worry is that he'll do something really dumb and get impeached and we'll get President Pence. He scares the daylights out of me.

If you aren't already scared shitless about having the Pussygrabber-in-Chief's finger on the nuclear button, nothing else should matter.

The driver of global warming is the population explosion. Historically speaking the only way population growth has ever been slowed has been through education. What Trump does with third world countries will have a major effect. Isolationism and protectionism won't turn back the tide. I agree with Rohan - once the polar ice-caps are gone, then we are buggered. My feeling is that we might already be too late to stop the progression to an ecological disaster. Even a cautious approach such as providing solar powered computers for every African and Indian village might help a bit. It would get the family dependence away from relying on male children by offering other avenues for survival.
