Trump seems to be doing well so far...

Reportedly, a former Trump aide has asserted that his candidacy was never intended to achieve the success it has had so far, but because of the nasty debates, his huge ego will not let back off.

I'm in Japan at the moment.

Trumps comments about treaty commitments etc causing quite a stir here...!

Latest joke I have heard is that one comedian has said that they had a field day under George Bush and they cannot wait for Donald Trump…….. :)

When everyone thought W would lose his 2nd coronation after winning the first with a minority of the popular vote, a rigged Florida count and a Supreme Court appointment for the lawyer who argued the case, David Letterman said, "I'm gonna miss that guy." The next four years weren't funny at all.

Tony Abbott as Prime Minister of Australia was NOT a joke. He lasted about 5 minutes.

Any bets on Trump on how long he will last after being sworn in as president before he drops his first clanger :?:

I suggested some posts back that he will be at war with the tea lady, before the 1st day is up. !
Never a good move....

If he doesn't have the folks doing the inauguration ceremony all shot, for some minor transgression.

I hope he survives the four years. I definitely don't want to see that evangelical Christian fruitcake Pence in the driver's seat.

He will be anyway, Trump is in the learners seat ?

Could be a rough and bumpy ride !

All this crap about Russian hacking to influence the outcome of the election and Trump's ass-kissing of Putin and denigrating our own intelligence community is pathetic.

That's rich. What is pathetic are all the weak excuses made for HC's loss, especially when we consider who beat her.

And each of them only got ~27% of the vote. And HC more than Trump !
That means nearly half the voters didn't have anyone worth voting for ?

The american version of 'democracy' is rather odd, when you think about it.
Only being allowed to run 2 terms of 4 years means you find a good Prez, and kick them out after a few years.
Wasn't it Castro that commented that he'd seen 7 presidents come and go....

Consistency, we need consistency, not this constant full speed ahead and full speed reverse all the time.
Thats what the voters are getting seriously cheesed off with ?

Cyber warfare is the next big battlefield.
Trump will ignore it - at his own peril. ??

When a fishing boat sails into NY harbor with 6 lightly armed brigands on board (with cyber backup), and all the power stations and phone systems and airport radars and police systems and icbm systems all mysteriously shut down, NY will be theirs...

We have already seen examples of all these actually happen.
Just small tests of what could come ?

And when school aged hackers can get into supposedly top secret secure facilities online,
you KNOW that security ain't the best !

Thats right Rohan... "rather odd"! Our great democracy allows congressional districts to be manipulated to serve one party over the other. States are making it more difficult for lower income/minorities to cast their votes. Unlimited money in politics. One candidate can win the popular vote by 3 million, and we end up with the other idiot... it goes on and on and its all a national disgrace.
