Jim,

That’s a nice magneto setup on the back. It looks much better than the wart coming off the camshaft on the timing case cover. That motor looks like it can produce some serious horsepower. I hope you can report the numbers.
Cheers

Yes, it must be nice to have an option for mag placement. But make no mistake, ay, the benifit will be no less.

There was no option for mag placement until I welded up the case and re-machined it. Jim

It would break my heart if i dropped the bike on the timming side with that setup. Right. The trick is to keep the black side down

I will have the video camera on. Jim

Just don't start the video with "Hey ya'll watch this!" or "Here, hold my beer!"

(famous last words)

What is that timing cover off ?

Nice looking setup.
Don't forget your earplugs.
And oxygen supply...

Yes, I'm hip to that, Jim.
Do you have any estimated numbers? Projections? Hopes? Wishes?

I definitely have my hearing protectors plus a good exhaust extractor with a 35 gallon muffler. It will still be loud.
The timing cover is from an early twin but I cant say what model. It has the two tiny holes for the old brass badge. Jim

Well the motor is built and cammed with torque in mind. With the long stroke it will not be turning a lot of rpm so that will limit the HP reading somewhat. This will be my first 1007 with a Fullauto head so we will see. I know what the engine design software says but I am thinking it may be a little optimistic. Jim

Now that is leaving a lot of us hanging.

Me too.
If the place I get my race fuel hadn't decided to close early, I could have made some noise yet today.

Is it for a stock frame Commando.
I wonder what effect mounting the FCR's in a more downdraft angle, bowl plug level, not the bowl to body line would do.

It's going in a custom chrome-alloy frame.

The carbs could be tilted down a bit. If they were to be tilted very much you would need to use a different model FCR. Then they can run all the way to vertical. I used to use the downdraft version on my racebike with re-angled intake ports and straight manifolds. Jim
