TIRE FLAT - BIKE FALLS OVER

Would need one on each side. The bike fell the other way. Opposite the side stand. The side stand needs to be longer like in the harleys. Or at least be able to hold the bike up with a flat tire.
Correct that’s what I meant. One per side.
I use pit bull stands on my bikes. Very sturdy.

The Domi has a featherbed type frame - different from the Commando's.
Maybe the difference between the Domi and Commando side stand geometry is the culprit here.
The attitude for the Domi will change with a flat tire. Front end will rise in relation to the rear of the bike.
This will shift/change the weight transfer on the side stand.
That transfer must have been enough to destabilize the bike on the stand.

All Domi owners should be aware.
I have a Dominator and a commando. I’ll check the lean angles of both bikes.
I do know they both use the same side stand but I’ll check and see how each bike stands when parked.

It's the same story with some of the Triumphs. One of the frequent complaints from ThruxR owners is getting a flat whilst out on the road and unable to prop bike up on sidestand.

I tried it with safety strap in place and we can now consider this to be a myth that is well and truly busted.
With safety strap removed and tire flat vs full, the bike is, if anything, more stable in the away from stand direction. It's not about to fall in the stand direction either.

Will check my other leaners to see if this holds for them as well.

Was that front or rear tyre Glen? Maybe the guys reporting this problem were stuck on a cambered surface, who knows.

I just tried deflating the rear.
Will try the front too.
It seems really stable on that stand, or as stable as things can reasonably be on a sidestand.

Took my CR in for a rear puncture fix and It was so upright I think a fly landing on the end of the handlebars would have toppled it.....

Had to stand and hold its hand while they made it better.

I thought it was only me that side stand is useless i an 6 foot 2 inches tall and ever ever since the first day i tried to ride the bike i almost dropped it on my drive.I went for a ride in June with it and dropped it on my drive i had some mates with me to lift it of me ,the same day i almost dropped it twice in level car parks so next year going to shorten the stand it is far to near almost vertical.

Check If USA and UK get the same stand ? Also , Don't forget the stiffness of the tire carcass. Soft sidewall will collapse more.

My 961 also sat very upright on the side-stand and almost vertical, and concerned me where ever I parked it.
I ordered the 10mm shorter side-stand from Norton back in 2015 which is better, but still a bit too vertical for me on some surfaces.

I wish these bikes had a center stand. Not sure why modern bikes do not come with them anymore.

I think back in the day, motorcyclists were rather mechanically inclined, for good reason.
Back then if your bike developed a problem on the road, you would probably expect that you would put the bike on the provided center stand, pull the rear wheel and fix the flat yourself.
I know that's how I thought 40-30 years ago, and what I had to do a few times.
Fast forward to today - Most riders who develop a problem on the road call their insurance for a roadside pickup, and delivery to a dealer for resolution - and have clean nails.

Just changing times.

Anyone shortened a stand looks like 10mm is not enough anyone any ideas about how much to remove.

The only problems I can remember in a year of use was when I got a flat back tyre and at a garage forecourt with a sideways slope. If shortened would I have had more problems with it going the other way, say on the camber parked at the side of the road?
