I have a Dominator Naked and a Commando SF.
Does anyone use a throttle lock for long rides?
My Dominator has the clip ons and the Commando has the up right bars.
Thanks guys!

I used a wrist buster for my ride to North Carolina. But haven’t since Ive been back. TonyA has a wrist buster. No throttle lock tho

A funny thing happened with swapping out my grips today. I needed to replace the throttle side before I went riding as the original grip split horizontally almost all the way across. I didn't have time to use glue so I went without. This resulted in a change in the springback ... it barely has any now! So I kind of have the equivalent of a throttle lock now. :p

Sure you didn't just push it up a little too far or its rubbing the bar end?

I've used throttle locks on most of my bikes for the last few years. They help me avoid hand cramps on longer rides. I haven't fitted one yet to my 961, but will do so in the near future.

If anything it is not as far as the original grip. It moves a tiny bit since I didn't use glue, but nothing that would affect the spring back.

If I were to do a throttle lock, I'd do the bar end type. The seem more compact, aesthetically pleasing and easier to manipulate.

I've used www.Throttlemeister.com on all my bikes I ride a lot and it is a must have. Very well built , easy to use, and looks excellent on any classy bike. I will be getting a set for my 961 Sport ASAP.

Nothing wrong with using these, but do bear in mind that if, and I say, if, you are suddenly ejected from your saddle for any reason the engine will go revving on and on- it would be peace of mind if you use them with an ignition cut-out chord that wraps around you wrist.

Those look interesting, but they don't list one for the 961. Which model are you ordering?

Ken

If you call them and tell them the diameter of your handlebars they will tell you which one fits your bike. I haven’t ordered mine yet so not certain which one I’m going to go with. Will work on this next week and post it when I do.

It only continues revving if the bike doesn’t fall, because when bike falls the tilt switch will immediately cut off the engine...

Well, there is a tilt switch connected to the ECU. And when bike tilts this switch will cut the engine off. At least my MKI bike has this switch and it works...

It looks like this (newer version):
