The perfect rant...

Well,.. you opened Pandora's box with this topic... You've left out my biggest rant which is,....

The bigfoot thing... Yeti, Sasquatch, Yowie... How is it that there are numerous television shows with primatology professors on them, speculating on the existence of a creature from which no one has ever found a single hair, nor any scat material, nor any skeletal remains? If the whole thing is fueled by the earning of millions in television revenue, then it makes me think that the average human being is basically an idiot,...

... Yet, every morning when I come downstairs at 5AM, I always draw back the curtain on the window on my way to the bathroom to have a look, just in case Sasquatch is taking a shortcut through my back yard! o_O

What we should all recognise is that most politicians need adversarialism to justify their own existence. Individual politicians have the need to be different from other politicians, so they create problems which they can solve, to make themselves look good. When we fight amongst ourselves over political issues, it provides the opportunity for more bullshit to be created by politicians. In the end, it is all about the money. - Not so much what is 'for the common good'. Not many politicians are genuine altruists. If you read their biographies to see what motivates them, you will find most of it is about furthering their own careers and helping their friends - not doing good for everyone. There are ways in which politics could have everyone pointing in the same direction by providing equity and a common motivation to pursue common goals. But half the politicians would not have jobs.

Bob Hawke is acclaimed by both sides of Australian politics as having been as great Prime Minister. If you read his biography, you will find he was not an ideologue - simply an ego-driven opportunist. It has been said that across the whole of industry, the rate of making 'correct decisions' is about 50%. The main thing a leader must do is actually make a decision when it is required. Right or wrong does not matter, but it helps to be risk-conscious.

In addition - don’t move to another country which has long held beliefs and practices, and when you dislike them, try, often with violence, to turn it into a form of the dung heap you came from.
It's a great pity some of the immigrants don't understand the above. . . . . .

China assists North Korea. North Korea assists Iran. Iran assists Syria. When the CIA and the Mossad attack nuclear sites in Syria, there is usually no publicity. However the response comes through sleepers in western countries. Islamic global terrorism is mostly about Israel.
Australia is about to buy long range missiles - whom should we fire them at ?

The wildfires.

It's happening in Texas from all the influx of Californian's moving there. Just that it's through voting, as in voting for more restrictions /laws etc....

My friend the shooter told me everyone is polite in Texas because of the guns. How many are dead from being rude ?

I think people are polite in Texas because they are polite. As are most Americans in my experience. Linking it to guns is just BS in my opinion.
Your "perfect rant" seems to have, somehow, lost its perfection!

I saw this posted on Linked In today. I thought it was just brilliant. Just think, even on this forum of relatively like minded souls, we can seldom have a debate without it reverting to mud slinging and name calling.

Why? What’s wrong with us all these days?

Freedom of speech and the ability to ‘agree to disagree’ whilst respecting that others may not always think you are right... we should try and practice this it more often...

Anyway, here’s the rant:

I’m sick of covid-19.
I’m sick of black vs. white.
I’m sick of Tory vs. Labour.
I’m sick of gay vs. straight.
I’m sick of Christians vs atheists.
I’m REALLY sick of the media.
I’m sick of no one being allowed to think what they want & feel what they do without offending someone.
I am sick of people blaming the whole for the sins of a few.
We’re one race—the human race.
You want to support Boris Johnson? You do so. It’s your choice.
You want to support Kier Starmer ? Fine... also your choice!
You want to believe in God? Okay, believe in God.
You want to believe in magical creatures that fly around & sprinkle fairy dust to make life better? Awesome... you do so.
BUT stop thrusting your beliefs on others & not being able to deal with the fact that they don’t have the same exact mind-set as you.
Having our own minds is what makes us all individual and beautiful. If you can’t handle the fact that you may have a friend that has opposing views as you, then you are not any better than the bigots and the racists.
I don’t have to agree with everything you believe to be a decent human being & your friend.

Rant over

There is something in there that offends me, I just have to wait for a social media directive to tell me what it is.

Yeti is out there, and so is the Wolf Man and Frankenstein and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, of Godzilla too. They're out there, just waiting for that one time you let your guard down.

Many years ago I found my 7 year old son watching a Bigfoot "documentary" one late night, hes still pissed at me for not making him turn it off.

Here's something to think about
I attended a funeral early this year of an old mate of mine just before the lockdown
Another mutual mate was in attendance
We had a chat and my mate told me that the last conversation he had had with the mate that died had ended in a big row
The row was about politics, it was about Brexit to be exact!!
So the last conversation he had with our mate was an argument and it was left on bad terms and nothing can be done about that now
The point I'm reiterating is if you disagree with someone it's not the end of the world, get over it and move on
Agree to disagree
Cheers

One of my best friends died while driving his car. I knew him from way back when I was 18. Over the years, we had the shits with each other many times and have not spoken for months. But that is what friendship is about. If you have to pussy-foot around somebody, they are not your friend. I am remarried because in my first, with my Ex - no issue was ever resolved. I now have a wife who will stand toe to toe with me and I love her dearly. I still talk to my Ex, but not often.
One young guy told me that it was sad that my father 'beat up on me'. He did not actually do that - we stood toe to toe and traded punches. He died at age 63 in 1977 and I still miss him.
