Tank strap mounting/installation on slimline frame

Get one of those 'hoover drive' O rings. Secure this with a cable tie to eiter side of the frame. get your stainless tank strap and bend a U / hook shape on the end (round off the corners on a linisher or sander etc before bending). Then hook your stretched hoover ring over the bent tank strap to secure the tank.

Add a dry-break coupler into the line and you've got a tank you can remove in about 3 seconds!

All I have to say about this is THANK YOU. My Hoover belts arrived in the mail today. Using the zip ties, it attaches discreetly and will work perfectly. So simple and very nice!! Thanks again.

Glad it worked out Johnny.

I like simple solutions... suits my intellect...!

I'd just say that after you have got it set up try to yank the tank off the bike. If it slides sideways or comes off you will have to tension it down better. If you ever get into deep shit and have to grab it, if it comes off you are immediately off the bike. If you are using the hydraulic type steering damper the nasty crashing tank-slapper should never happen. Some guys ride race bikes with no steering damper, or a friction damper. I would never do that - my shoulder still hurts now and then. The crash I had was a real killer, I was just lucky I'd rolled over before I hit the ripple in the bitumen.
