I had a recent, 2nd March, correspondence and yes there is a lot of demand, they have a new guy and will be building them just not yet.
Mine was ready to ship last May but I asked for a centre rather than off centre filler after it was made and then lost out on getting one. So yes on the list.

More testing : 165 miles before the fuel light comes on .

4 US Gallons are accessible : a mere 41.5 mpg

But for those that don't have tune and can get 45 to 47 mpg you can go quite a long way with 4 US Gallons at the ready !

It's the accessible 4 gallons and range I am highlighting , not the gas price which is ok.
Tony. Speaking of petrol I've been under the impression we need to run high octane. I believe I read 93 somewhere. I've been mixing a gallon of 100 octane racing fuel with the remainder 91 octane which is the highest available here. What is the consensus about octane? The times I needed to fill up without racing fuel available I couldn't tell a difference on 91 octane.

These bikes don’t need high octane. They only have 10.0:1 compression. I understand they’re air cooled, but 95 RON or 91 US octane, it good.

Sometimes people think more is better, that’s not always the case. Higher octane burns slower.

I have run 87 , 89 ,91 , 93 octane and it seems ok. The 87 was on a trip and thats all I could get . When I brought it to the dyno shop it had 91 octane non-ethanol gas in it.

From the owners manual . 95 RON is 91 US octane

More is better in the UK. Super unleaded is a max of 5% ethanol (Esso Supreme in most areas actually zero ethanol content..the only one in the UK)....regular unleaded is a max of 10% ethanol.

Hi Tony, yes I know. I was just commenting how lucky you are that it's sooooo cheap in comparison.

Ethanol adds octane.
I run E85 on my car because of its 100+ octane rating. I wish motorcycles were the same.

I've got the guys from Tab ii Classics on their way over to me today, for me to meet their new welder and also discuss 961 tanks.
As I wont get chance to touch my Swiss bike probably until winter, I'm lending them that as a rolling frame to help them fine tune the fitment etc of their tank. Also got a couple of Marks last tanks to go back, which were sent to me last year just before the TT for test fitting.
I'll update this when I know more 🙂

That’s great Stu - looks like they are going to start 961 tank production again then. Great news.
